Chapter5- C-rank

A few weeks after last chapter

Sasuke POV

Sakura and Naruto told me what happened and that Kakashi now knows our acts. Naruto said we would still use them in public like we always do but can act ourselves in secret when we're with sensei.

I still don't trust him. So I did some research on him. He was 5 when he became a genin, 6 when he became a chunin, 10 when he was a jounin, and he joined the ANBU at age 13. He was a student of Lord fourth and all the members of his genin team are deceased. That was all the information I could find.

Third POV

While waiting for kakashi, Naruto and Sakura fell asleep.

They most likely didn't sleep last night... Sasuke thought. It was getting closer to narutos birthday and the three kids always were on alert around that time. That was one of the reasons Sasuke didn't trust kakashi, he could be getting closer to Naruto just to harm him.

As Kakashi was walking towards to where he told his team to meet, he saw Narutos head on Sasuke lap, laying on the ground and Sakura laying on narutos chest. Sasuke was running his fingers through narutos hair while humming with his eyes closed.

(This is the song Sasuke is humming:

"Hey" kakashi said. Sasuke stopped humming and looked up at kakashi. "I'll wake them up." Sasuke said while picking up narutos head and laying on the ground. He stood up and brushes off his shorts.

"I heard there was a ramen sale at-"" REALLY!?" Naruto asked quickly sitting up and in the process waking Sakura up. "No I just did that to wake you up", Sasuke said looking at the now two standing siblings.

"Screw you sasuke!" Naruto yelled while Sakura snickered. "You never joke about ramen" Naruto pouted.

"Ok, ok let's not fight about ramen. Let's go get our missions for today." Kakashi said finally getting the attention of his students.

"Today you will clean the river, fix a..." Iruka listed on the rest of the D-ranks team 7 was supposed to do but Naruto, tired of doing D-ranks, spoke up.

"Old man," Naruto whined "we should get a harder mission then there stupid chores you keep sending us on! We're stronger now and can handle it!" Naruto protested while the rest of his team sweat dropped at him. "Naruto! Don't speak to the hokage like that! And you're not ready for a higher mission-" iruka was cut off by the hokage raising his hand and speaking "calm down iruka, no need to get angry for him speaking his thoughts." The hokage said. He moved some papers on his desk and handed one to kakashi. "Here, it's a simple C-rank. You and your team will be escorting the bridge builder, tazuna, back to the land of waves. There shouldn't be that much trouble on the way."

The door opened and a man with a bottle of beer in his hand walked in. Narutos hand went to sakuras and she squeezed his hand in comfort. Tazuna took a sip of his beer and looked at the kids.

"A bunch a brats are going to protect me? And the little one with the stupid face, you really expect me to believe your a ninja?" The man slurred out. "Little?" Naruto asked and looked to Sasuke and sakura. He was in fact, the smallest one of the trio.

"I'll show you little-" Naruto was cut off by Sakura cupping her free hand over his mouth. "Shut up you baka!" She yelled.

"I can assure you..." Kakashi looked back down at the paper. "..Tazuna, that my team is skilled enough to accompany you back home." Kakashi said while he did his eye smile but he was already suspicious of the man drowning himself in alcohol. Drinking might be him trying to keep calm or he might just be an alcoholic.

"Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto you three go pack for a 5 day trip and meet at the front gate in an hour then we'll take off." Kakashi said and the three walked out.

After tazuna walked out Kakashi stayed. "Is there something the matter kakashi?" Hiruzen asked. Kakashi looked at the hokage getting ready to ask something that would change some things.

"Yes Lord third, it's about sasuke and his living arrangements." Kakashi said In a serious tone. "What's wrong with them?" The hokage asked. He didn't see anything wrong with them. "I think him staying in the uchiha compound is concerning for his health." Kakashi said worry lining his voice now. "He seems perfectly healthy to me Kakashi." Hiruzen said.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes. A hokage has to understand that health does not just mean physical appearances.

"His mental health sir, living where he experienced something traumatic can be damaging to him." Kakashi said trying to keep calm.

"The event already happened, I don't see why he can't stay there." The hokage said. Iruka side eyed him. Is he serious? The chunin thought.

"Sir, Sasuke could be experiencing PTSD from the massacre and that could affect him physically too, he is underweight for his age-" Kakashi was cut off. "Kakashi you were diagnosed with multiple mental illnesses when you were a child but that did not effect your work." Hiruzen said.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes even more. When the village first started mistreating his father he developed anxiety and when he father killed himself Kakashi was diagnosed by a Yamanaka counselor with anxiety and depression. After obito and rin died he developed PTSD. Kakashi isolated himself from people and only focused on missions, that is the reason people didn't see him hurting.

"Sir, sasuke is not me..." Kakashi said trying to be polite. "Yes, but he is like you. He's a prodigy, smart and strong." Hiruzen said still not getting what Kakashi was trying to say. "This is not about physical abilities, this is about how sasuke should not be living in a place that is causing him harm!" Kakashi finally yelled.

Kakashi POV

How could the hokage compare sasuke to me? I was raised in a war and was trained to be a soldier to fight in it. I spent my entire childhood training to be a weapon. Sasuke was born in a peaceful time and didn't have to worry about a war.

I like to keep an eye on people I'm wary about so I watch Sasuke go to and leave the uchiha compound. He always has a blank look on his face, like he doesn't bother with the current world around him. That look goes away when he sees or hears Naruto or Sakura. I'm guessing the two help him stay grounded.

"Then what do you suppose to do kakashi?" Lord stupid asked, clearly surprised I raised my voice at him. I sighed to calm myself down and proposed my plan.

"Sasuke could...."

2) what to you think will happen differently from the wave arc?

(What will happen might depend on what you say cause I didn't plan doing the wave arc so I'm just squishing it in the whole plot)
