Chapter 4

I held Judith for the rest of the day as I met everyone in their group. Maggie, Carol, and Glenn are really nice but Daryl seems a little shady. Anyway, it was starting to get a little dark out so I started to look for a place to sleep in the large house. I wander up the stairs with Judith in my arms, and look for a temporary room. But Judith doesn't like all of the movement so she starts to get fussy. I look to make sure no one is around first, then I start to sing a song my mom sang to me when I was a little girl.

But, I got so caught up in my little song, I hadn't notice that Judith ha already fallen asleep, and Carl was behind me listening."Oh... umm... Sorry, I didn't notice you were there." I said quietly so I couldn't wake Judith. I look at her trying to find a distraction from this embarrassing moment. Carl just stares at me then says," (Y-Y/N) I-I didn't know you could sing. Th-that was......beautiful." he said, stuttering slightly, a deep red lining his cheeks, looking at the floor. "T-thanks. My mom used to sing that to me when I was little." I said, blushing even more because of his compliment. " Well, is it alright if Judith sleeps with me? I don't want to wake her by putting her in the crib." I said braking the awkward silence. "Oh, uh, yah sure. That would be fine." he said smiling his little sibling as she sleeps. "Well, I'm going to go find a room for Judith and I, so...goodnight." I said sort of awkwardly. "Ok. Goodnight (Y/N)" he said starting to walk off. I turned around and opened a door and saw a nice big, empty, queen bed. Perfect for Judith and I. before Carl is completly around the corner, he looks back at me and Judith, smiling and slightly blushing.(but I didn't notice) I walk over to the comfortable bed and got underneath the covers with baby Judith in my arms. I kiss her forehead and my eyelids get heavy and slowly close, sending me into a deep, dreamless sleep.
