Brooklyn~
I opened the door of the car and breathed in. We had just moved from Illinois to Castle Rock, Oregon. Our new house was a lot smaller than our one in Illinois that was for sure. I wanted to cry. We had just arrived and I already missed home.
My brother, Sam, pushed me out of the way to get to the front steps knocking me out of my thoughts. Three movers were coming in and out of our house as I was walking in. I went up the stairs to go find where my room would be. I spotted Sam in the bedroom closest to the stairs so I went to go look at the two others.
One was the master bedroom for my Mom and Dad. So the last one left was a bright pink painted room. Great. I didn't hate pink but I'm a little old for a pink room.
I went back outside to go help my parents and the movers to bring in boxes when I spotted a group of boys. They were across the street from my house staring at all the action going on. Every so often they would say something to one an other. I saw this as an opportunity to make some new friends, they looked about my age.
I walked over to them all of them now staring at me and not my house. "Hi, I'm Brooklyn. We just got here from Illinois." I said to all of them. They stared at me for a few seconds more before one of them opened there mouth. "Oh, well hi, I'm Chris Chambers." After that the rest of them started to speak. I had learned the second one was Gordie and one was Vern. I looked over to the last one. He had big dorky glasses, I smiled at him. He was cute. "Teddy, Teddy Duchamp." I smiled even more at that. Teddy Duchamp was his name.
"We'll I've gotta go help take in boxes, see you guys around." I said walking away. I turned back once again and they were all staring at each other with their jaws dropped. I laughed and continued to help.
