We arrived home, Alex was a gentleman and walked us back safely. Abbey left me and Alex by the steps of the apartment building while she was going to open the door. It was more awkward. The wind blows harder and gives me the chills. Alex takes his jacket off and gives it to me. I look at the jacket then to him.
"No, I can't. You'll be freezing."
"And you will be too."
"But I'm in front of my house?"
He stays quiet and smirks, "Yeah, you're right."
What was he trynna do? Oh fuck. I'm stupid.
"Please, keep it. I guarantee it'll keep you warm."
"I didn't know you sell clothing." I smirk. He look at the distance trying not to laugh.
"I don't."
"Seems like it."
"That's when you're wrong."
I let out a chilling giggle, the cold is getting to me. I look at Alex, he seemed to notice. I rolled my eyes and put the jacket on since I knew that's what he wanted me to do. It really is warm.
"A bit big, but you look good." He smiles while sliding his hands into his pockets.
I shake my head, "How are you not cold?"
"Just seeing you with my jacket keeps me warm." He smiles.
I look down trying to hide my blush. It remains quiet, I look up at the steps and Abbey wasn't there, she probably wanted to give us space in case "something" happened.
"I guess I better be going." He speaks up.
I look back at him. Don't leave please!"
I don't why I just said that, In fact BLURTED that out. He looked surprised then smiled, "Don't worry, you have my number so we can meet up whenever."
I nodded, "you're right."
"Don't worry. I'll text you when I'm home. I promise."
"How far do you live?"
"A few blocks actually."
I put my hands into the jackets pockets, I felt a box. And something else. I pull them out, a box of cigarettes and a lighter. I look at him and smiled, "Wow, okay."
He takes them out of my hands and smirks, "You don't smoke?"
"Who says I didn't?"
He raises a brow. God he looked beautiful. Especially how the night lit his face up.
"You can keep them if you want."
"No, thank you. I have enough packs to be honest."
"Addicted much?"
"No, it's called being prepared."
He chuckles. "Well I better run off, goodnight..uh?"
"Lily." I smiled at his struggle of solving my name.
"Lily, short for Lilian I'm taking?" He leans on the railing.
"You're right."
He nods. I look at him, his eyes meet mines. We stay quiet for a few minutes, examining each other. Every detail stands out. His image is as sharp as a shard of glass.
"Right, so on your way home?" I spoke up looking the to right of me.
"Yeah, I'll see you soon. Hopefully tomorrow." He's giving me puppy eyes. Oh my god. I thought I'd never say this, but these puppy eyes are convincing.
"Hopefully. We'll see." I smile.
He smiles back, "Night Lilian." And walks pass me. I head up the stairs, and press the pin to enter the building. Before I step in, I look back to see him staring at me. I could see his smile from the distance and turned around the corner. I enter the building feeling butterflies in my stomach. What just happened? What did I just feel? I know what I feel.
Alex is starting to mess with my heart.{Okay hi, I hope you're enjoying it. Also, this chapter is small I know. I recently got news I was accepted into university here in California! So yeeee I'm happy, anyways I'll be updating soon! - Carina}
