Genesis Chapter 3

Housewarming

Opening scene-

We open with a tracking shot of matt and sam's new house. We hear some music playing from speakers as matt enters the frame carrying a couple of boxes from the garage.

Matt: talking to sam. Where do you want this? Sam turns around and she has a box cutter in her hand.

Sam: just put it on the table, i think thats all just kitchen stuff. She turns back around and continues cutting off the packing tape from a box. Matt walks up, hugs her from behind and kisses her cheek. She smiles. What do you want?

Matt: why do you think i want something?

Sam: because whenever youre really affectionate, its because you want something.

Matt:thats not true. Sam turns around and gives a knowing look. Okay fine, this time i do want something. I had promised ryan i would hang out with them for a bit before the party tonight.

Sam: oh sure. Go, ill be fine here.

Matt: you sure?

Sam: yeah theres only like two boxes left to unpack, plus i have to start cooking anyway and god knows you arent any help in that arena. Plus i think rachel is coming over.

Matt: playfully. Im hurt, you hit me right in the sweet spot. But i forgive you. He begins to walk backwards towards the door. Youre the best! Love you.

Sam: love you too. Matt leaves and we see sam smile and continue to unpack the box.

We cut to a knock on a door. Ryan walks up and opens it to show matt holding up some beers.

Matt:yall ready?

Ryan: born ready. He calls out to daniel. Yo, matts here!

Daniel comes in from the other room.

Daniel: alright lets do this. We then see the boys head to the backyard. The three of them begin to set up some beers on a table and they bring out their guns. You guys know the rules. Three shots each blindfolded, loser has to chug a beer. Whos going first?

Ryan: ill go, i had perfect aim in the toilet this morning so im feeling pretty good.

Matt: that doesnt mean anything. Ryan looks at his brother as he puts on the blindfold.

Ryan: of course you dont think so, you used to hit everywhere but the toilet. And somehow it was my job to clean up after you.

Matt: wasnt my fault i was the favorite. Matt moves ryan in front of the target, he takes a deep breath and fires three times. The first two are right on the money and the third is a bit to the right. Ryan takes off his blindfold. Guess your aim wasnt as on point on you thought.

Ryan: lets you do better.

Matt: wont be hard. We then see matt put on his blindfold, daniels moves him to the target and matt fires three shots. The first hits, the last two are sporadically spread out. Ryan laughs and matt takes off the blindfold.

Ryan: youre right, it wasnt hard. Losing comes naturally to you.

Daniel: steps up and puts on his blindfold. Let me show how a real marksman hits his shots. He fires all three rapidly, and all of them hit dead center. Ryan and matt are speechless. Then ryan speaks up.

Ryan: where the hell is this when we play COD?

Daniel: i'm good at actual shooting, not video games. My dad used to take me hunting.
