It took over a week before we found a spot for our meetings to take place. During this long expected wait, both Sam and I went about our days like it didn't exist. With Draco by my side more often than not, the topic became dangerous to speak about aloud. So much so that Sam and I had created a code for it.

"Perfume study? Really?"

"Oh come on Sam, it's perfect. Draco always gave me grief about my study in perfume potions last year. He has no interest in it and so would never think to follow along for the ride should we ever actually need to escape the common room for a meeting."

"You're forgetting one key component here," Sam addressed, turning in her seat near the fireplace. We were sitting in the common room trying to complete the homework I could have done earlier in the day had it not been for my attendance at Quidditch practice at the request of Draco.

"And what's that?"

"If there were to be meetings in the future, you would need to set up a real study group signed off by Umbridge. And if that was to happen, you would need Snape to accept the role of teacher for said study group. How do you expect that to work out?"

"I'm sure I can come up with something," was all I had time to say before I spotted Draco walking my way from the boy's dorm. He had taken longer than most to clean up following Quidditch practice though he looked good for it. I did so like his hair all ruffled and clean after a shower.

Sam stood up off the couch, catching me from my thoughts, as she put her books back into her bag.

"Where are you going?"

"Alice. She wanted to see me for something. Nothing big I think but she doesn't seem to tell me the whole truth when you're with me so-"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked feeling downtrodden by the news. I always thought Alice liked me.

"What are you on about?" Draco asked by my side as he joined me on the couch, resting an arm above my shoulders. Sam took one look at Draco before gathering the rest of her things promptly.

"Sam's little sister doesn't trust me it seems," I explained, leaning into him while eyeing Sam's movements. She paused long enough to give me a weary sigh.

"You know it's not like that. Sisters just like to talk. I'm sure you get it," she explained.

"Not really, I don't have a sister-"

"Can't say I can relate either," Draco included making me smile at him. Sam deflated more but gave up on the argument.

"Whatever. I'll see you later Ava."

I waved her off while Draco gave a tsking sound beside me.

"What?" I retorted with a growing smile.

"It's funny isn't it," he began with a line in his voice that sounded oddly of trouble. "How she never speaks to me directly when I'm with you."

"That's not true, she spoke to you the other day before practice."

"Only because I cornered her into responding. Wasn't very nice about it either, actually."

"Don't tell me you're hurt over Sam's cold attitude toward you. I am well aware that you've probably done something to prompt it."

"Merlin, my own girlfriend can't even stick up for me," he protested with a scoff to no one in particular, which only made me smile more before kissing him on the cheek affectionately.

"You're tricking no one Malfoy," I said, toying with his last name. "You're far too proud of yourself to need me to stick up for you-"

At the mention of his last name, he turned in on me more and bopped the top of my nose, while adding, "What did I say about the last names-" I was giggling as I repeated "Malfoy-malfoy-mal-" He placed a hand over my mouth, shhing me until we heard someone clear their throat.
