Chapter 10

The Not-so Homecoming

Sauth walked to Sarah and pulled her to the side. "I understand your pain, more then you know. This is no time to get weak―you need to be strong for we are at war. It is no longer just our planet. Now yours is involved. You need to do something about it, not sit there and sulk. Things happen...we are tested to extreme lengths sometimes. But, we must pull ourselves out of the negative and move forward...knowing this is the path we must follow no matter how hard it is to understand, or we will never survive. Our people need to see us strong. That's what leaders need to do. It is hard for me at times and now it will be for you and Billy too." Sarah lifted her head and stood tall and slowly began to slouch again.

Sauth blurted out: " Apples, oranges, peas and carrots."

"What does that mean?"

"We need to be like these fruits and vegetables or the people who are willing to follow us will lose faith. We need to nourish their bodies and strengthen them from the inside out. Our words, our actions are the juice they need to be strong...like the fruit. Our emotions are the nutrients they need...like the vegetables. They get peeled, shaved, popped and cut. Tremendous abuse, before they serve their purpose. We must remember to be like them no matter what it takes."

"Apples, oranges, peas and carrots. I understand." Sarah said.

"Good, are you ready to talk and see what needs to be done?"

"Yes, I am."

They walked over to Bellar and Billy. "She is ready to listen."

"I am too." Billy Said.

"Yes, yes, it is already written. You two just came to realization with it. Too much time has already been wasted. You must go back and get us our technology or artifacts if you will. We must not allow anyone to have access to it. If our technology fell into the wrong hands it could be horrible," Bellar flailed his arms, "catastrophic. You must retrieve all your father has found and bring them back to us and arm yourselves with the armor and weaponry of your world. Sauth and Jubar take them to the portal please."

"Yes, High Elder." They both said in near unison.

The four of them made their way to the printels and took off. They went slower than the last two times Billy and Sarah rode with them. They did this so they could see how much land was left before the swarm of Daulpers reached Resarauth. The Daulpers were close to the alley of white rock. Some already made it to the middle of the mountains.

"We are running out of time they are nearing the bridge and the mountains are...are almost devoured." Jubar said with scarceness in his voice.

"You still got your walls up, they won't attack you―will they?" Sarah asked.

"No, they haven't attacked as a group in a long time." Jubar answered. "The north side is nearly gone as well." He said even more frightened.
