Chapter 5
The Dodecahedron and the Staircase Shaped Door
Billy woke, to the clock radio going off...
This is KDM 92 on your radio. Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! It's time to get your day on. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be in this station today. It's a gorgeous day out there. It might be time to fire up that grill, that's been sitting all winter. We're going to see, a high up to 72 degrees and it's only going to drop to 65 tonight. Right now, it's 58 degrees. Can you believe it? Last week it was 34 degrees. What's with this weather, Dian? I don't know, Shawn. All I know is, I was shoveling 10 inches of snow last week and there is going to be a lot of sick people next week. This is ridiculous, 26 degrees, 34, 15 and 50 degrees last week. So, is the weather going to stay this nice Dian, or are we in for another crazy decline? It looks like Old man winter chapped his last lips, last week. It's going to be warm all week and into April. So it appears the warm weather is here to stay, Shawn. Thanks, Dian. In sports yesterday....
Billy sat up turned off the clock radio. He dressed and walked over to his weapon rack hanging on the wall―pulled the weapons off the rack one by one, cleaned them with a cloth and placed them on his bed.
Billy owns every Martial art weapon known to the shopping community. He dusted off the wooden, weapon rack that had the Japanese symbols of wisdom, love and Divine Presence burnt into it. He placed each weapon back in its appropriate place. He has over fifty moon stars, placed in a leather pouch with the symbol of warrior burnt into it hanging from the bottom of the rack. He picked up his Kamas and cleaned them again. These were the weapon of Billy's choice. He is a master with the Kamas and used them in every test he took. They are an aerodynamic weapon that look like hand sickles. These weapons can sever limbs with a precision slice.
The doorbell rang...Billy quickly look at his clock it read 8:55. "Oh, crap." he said aloud and rushed down the stairs. "One second!"
He opened the door, the scent of vanilla and lavender burst in. Sarah was looking at him with her hair still wet from a morning shower. She was wearing: a skintight white shirt, with the symbols partly hidden behind her button-up black sweater and tight designer jeans with fashioned holes in them.
"Hey, Sarah―you look nice."
"I look like a drowned rat, Billy." She laughed.
"I'm sorry; I guess I should have asked you come at ten. Was this too early?"
"No, I'd still look like this." She smiled.
"This is a pretty small town, what more is there to see?"
"Well, it's your town now too, I don't think you should be busting on it too much." She said slightly annoyed.
"I mean, don't get me wrong―I want to spend time with you...Sarah interrupted "Do you now?"
Billy left out a shy chuckle saying. "Yea―Well honestly, I was nervous around you at first. Now, I feel like I can be myself around you and was looking forward to seeing you all weekend. I just don't want to run out of stuff to do." Billy said with confidence.
