Chapter - 16

CHANYEOL POV

Today is the day my ex-bestfriends will be handing in the money to me. It took a week to get everything in place. Seulgi noona helped me with auditions, the songs and I managed to pull through it all. Move entertainment absolutely loved my voice and have told me to join in as a trainee in 3 days. But I have decided to leave today so that I can prepare myself in a better way; outside home and college.

I snapped out of my train of thoughts when i felt my phone buzzing in my pocket.

KANG SEULGI CALLING...
ACCEPT | DECLINE

"Hey S, what's up?"

"Where are you right now?"

"At college, I'm walking towards my car. Afterall, you guys will be meeting me at my house and will be handing in the money."

"Yeah um, can you pick me up from our family mansion?"

I frowned and halted in my tracks.

"Why?"

"I have fractured my hand and cannot drive."

"S, I saw you yesterday jotting down the notes in class."

"Ugh, fine! I just don't want to drive!"

"Seulgi-ssi , you can afford a driver or even ask any of your family members to drive you."

"Tsk Park Chanyeol, just come here already and don't argue with me, I'm the older one here."

I quietly chuckled.

"Arasso Noona."

I said and hung up.

Seulgi was standing right outside the Kang mansion with her RBF. I pulled over and signalled her to hop in. As soon as she closed the car door I made a U-turn.

The ride was quiet and peaceful before Seulgi decided to speak up.

"Can I ask you something?"
she squeaked out in an adorable way as though she was nervous about it.

"Go on Noona."

"Why are you doing all of this? I mean, why do you want to run away to become an idol, leaving your family behind?"

I deeply sighed but decided to answer her question nonetheless.

"I never wanted to leave my family behind. It's just that being the eldest Park, I will be the one inheriting the empire. But, I want to become an idol and knowing our family, they won't let me do that. They will tie me down here so that I won't do anything stupid and force me to do what they want. So like the best way out is this."

My grip on the steering wheel tightened after the long explanation as Seulgi kept nodding; lost in thoughts.

"But like you could have told your siblings about it. They could have helped you out to convince your parents."
she said after a minute.

"You're right, they could have but my parents are so adamant about such things that they would just shrug them off." I said.
