Chapter - 17

AUTHOR POV

The Kang maknae was eagerly waiting for someone as she fixed her tennis skirt paired with a white crop top.

Soojin was biting her lower lip as she kept raising her head to look for the said person outside the park near Lakewood High.

From the dark alley arrived a person with his hands stuffed in his pockets and the hood covering his head. It would've looked creepy for someone who didn't know him but the young girl immediately identified him.

She waved cheerfully but the said guy didn't respond. As soon as he was in front of her, she called out for him,

"Taehyung-"

She cut herself off as The Kim maknae just walked away into the garden and sat down on the right corner of a bench.

Soojin's face scrunched up but she followed his lead anyways and sat down on the left corner of the same bench.

After that day when Soojin made 'fun' of Taehyung's ex and their memories, she regretted it immediately and kept thinking for days about what she could do to apologize to him. Finally, she came to a conclusion that she could take him for stargazing at the Park, which is his favourite. (or so Kim Junmyeon had told her)

There were very few people at this time in the beautiful Park. Soojin kept thinking about what to do next. An idea popped into her smart brain as she quickly got up.

"I'll be right back"
she said to Taehyung and dashed out of the Park.

The Kim maknae just glanced at her and sighed. He took his phone out and as soon as he unlocked it, he found Soojin's chat open. He read her message again.

"Hey, I know I fucked up that day. I badly regret it. My intention wasn't to hurt you or something, I was just trying to do it our old way, tease each other but the idiot me didn't know that this was such a touchy topic for you. Give me a chance to apologize please, for the sake of our friendship. Meet me tomorrow 8 pm at the Park near our High school."

The hazel eyed woman was carrying two chocolate ice cream cones as she entered the Park. She went infront of Tae and offered him a cone. He was confused at first but hesitantly took it.

Soojin sighed in relief as she went to sit back on her place. They were silently eating the ice cream while gazing at the peaceful star studded sky as the Kang turned towards the guy.

"Hey, listen"

Taehyung just nodded, indicating for her to continue.

"Can you atleast look at me?"
Soojin huffed out as a small smile appeared on Taehyung's face but he quickly hid it and looked at her chiselled face which was glowing under the moonlight.

"I'm sorry, really sorry. I honestly didn't know that it would hurt you. Whatever I said that day, I didn't mean it. I was just annoying you. I still remember the way you talked about her that night, with so much hurt but with a hint of happiness. I know she meant a lot to you and I'm a dick for making fun of it. I swear to god I'm not that bad of a friend. Please forgive me, we can have a new start."

The brunette talked it all out, nervously.
Taehyung observed her, guilt and regret clearly visible on her breathtaking features.

The Kim maknae looked away and spoke up after a long minute.

"I forgive you Kang. I know you didn't mean it like that, I just acted out of exasperation and took it out on you. I generally don't talk about her with anyone outside my family as she was way too important for me and what she did hurt me a lot."
