!!TW: alchol use!!!

Finding myself in a house I didn't know, surrounded by Suna and Iseri's former middle school classmates completely sober was not one of my favorite things.
It was a quiet little party, there was alcohol but no one seemed intent on getting drunk (at least for the moment).
Suna introduced me and my brothers to many of his friends - defining Atsumu and Osamu as his volleyball buddies and best friends and me simply as their sister - but after a while I got tired of being around them.
I felt uncomfortable with Suna beside me, I couldn't talk without being afraid of being judged, and socializing with other people was too hard to do silently. I decided to look for Iseri and Miyagawa. They certainly wouldn't make me feel so alone.
I found them in the kitchen, but they were talking to two girls and I didn't want to disturb them. I sighed and poured myself a drink. I missed Kumiko, I really wished she was there. Why did I agree to come to this stupid reunion? What did I have to do with this? Besides, Suna didn't even want me here...
«You don't know anyone either?» asked someone with an adorable accent flanking me.
I turned to the cheerful voice and found a tall, handsome guy standing next to me. He had short blond hair. He was muscular, with a sly smile on his face and his eyes lit up with amusement.
«Yeah,» I admitted.
He smiled sympathetically at me and poured his own drink. He held out his hand to me and said, «I'm Terushima Yuji, nice to meet you.»
I shook it, «Miya [Y/n],» I introduced myself.
He took a sip of his drink. I was attracted to the way he drank, as well as his appearance; to the way his Adam's apple rose and fell as he swallowed the liquid, to the way his hands gripped the paper cup.
«How did you end up here?» He asked.
«My brothers' friend invited them and they brought me along,» I explained succinctly. «What about you?»
«I came to visit my relatives and my cousin dragged me here.»
I nodded. We continued talking for a while, and the tension on my shoulders eased considerably.
Suna and the twins entered the room along with two other people and stared at me questioningly as they saw me laughing and joking with a stranger. I ignored them.
Terushima was nice, he seemed like the usual jerk who likes to hit on every person in the room, but the way he talked about his volleyball team and other passions of his was anything but superficial.
Osamu and Atsumu approached us. I introduced them and let the three of them make conversation. I was content standing there and listening to them interact.
When I looked around, I met Suna's gaze. He was watching us but didn't seem to have any intention of approaching. A girl was talking to him, and he wasn't even looking at her. I raised an eyebrow in question, but Suna merely mimicked my gesture in response. I gave him a bored look and returned my attention to the others. That was the moment when, in my mind, the tables turned. Now, somehow, I had the upper hand, and I was certain that if I pushed the right buttons, I could get a reaction out of Suna that night.

I gave the best - nay, the worst - of myself. Whenever Suna was in the vicinity, I made sure to annoy him: by bumping into him; by poking his side; by stealing his seat... But it yielded no results. No reaction at all.
Now I was talking to Terushima on one of the small sofas in the room. His intention was probably to hit on me, and I liked playing along. Seeing how easy it is to hold a guy in the fist of my hand had something funny that I couldn't explain; it made me feel powerful.
Osamu sat down next to me at dead weight and started texting on his phone. I tried to peek but he turned the screen away. He didn't usually care if I spied on his conversations, so this left me interjected.
«What are you hiding from me?» I asked.
«Nothing,» he replied, but he was careful not to show me his phone.
I decided not to think about it and returned my attention to Terushima.
«Do you want to go for a walk?» he asked.
«A walk around the house?»
«No, a walk outside the house.»
I thought about it for a moment. «I don't think that's a good idea. Neither you nor I are from around here, we'd risk getting lost on our own.»
«Come on. We've got our phones and we won't go far.»
I pondered for a few more moments. Okay, I thought. What could go wrong?
I warned Samu of my intentions and left the house with Terushima.

The streets were deserted and the sky was pitch black. The lights of the street lamps hid the stars, but it was still possible to make out the brightest ones.
«Hey, tell me the truth,» Terushima said after a few minutes of silence. «You and that friend of your brothers... There's something going on between you two, isn't there?»
I let go of a nervous laugh. «What? Absolutely not.»
«Well, but there was something. Either that, or you have a really weird friendship.»
«Neither of those things. We're not friends, and there's never been anything between us but pleasure in annoying each other.»
«Mhm,» murmured the blond, thoughtfully. «Strange,» he concluded.
We walked for a few more minutes, then my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I picked it up and answered it after seeing Atsumu's name on the screen.
«Hello?»
«[Y/n], where are you?»
«Outside. Why?»
«Can you come back? Miyagawa and Iseri decided to stay over, and Suna offered us to sleep at his place.»
I huffed. «Are you guys serious now?»
«Come on, it's not like we can force them to drive us home. They were nice enough to drive us all the way here... I'll tell mom and dad.»
I sighed. I knew the decision had already been made by now, so there wasn't much I could do. «Alright. Do you want to leave already?»
«Suna and I are tired, and 'Samu is fine with going home too. A friend of Suna is giving us a ride. Come back here.»
«All right, all right. I'm coming,» and I hung up.
«Everything okay?» asked Terushima, frowning.
«Yeah, it's just my brothers. Do you mind if we go back? They're waiting for me.»
«Oh, so you're leaving?»
«Guess so.»
«Then let me do something first,» he said, taking my hand and pulling me to him.
I knew what was coming, and I didn't push him away. I kissed the boy just for the hell of it. I felt his metal piercing make contact with my bottom lip and his hands roam over my body. He was definitely a good kisser. If I'd had more time, maybe it wouldn't have ended there.
We kissed for a few minutes, then he walked me back to the party. I said goodbye to him as if nothing had happened and he didn't make any rash moves, probably realizing that it was better for my brothers not to see him. He promised to write to me, but I took his words with extreme distrust. It wasn't the first time I had kissed a boy at a party and then never heard from him again. We had a good time, but that didn't mean it would happen again. I wasn't expecting anything from this kind of thing.

My brothers, in the car, peppered me with questions, teasing me about my slightly messy hair and swollen lips. I let them have it. There would be no point in disproving something that was true. I simply laughed with them.

Hi!
A wild Terushima appears.
Question: Do you like the character of Terushima? I always hear conflicting opinions. I don't mind him at all, in fact he seems to me one of the most "realistic" characters at the level of a teenage boy with hormones at full blast and a great desire to have fun. Then it's obvious that there is more than this that I like about his character.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter and see you next time! :)
