🕊Chapter Thirty-Three: Tamer 🕊
🕊🕊🕊
Eventually, Yukio arrived, walking up to the front of the class to make his announcement. I pulled out a pen and paper, ready to take notes because knowing him, It'd probably be important.
"Listen up. Summer vacation is less than a month and a half away, but before the break, you're going to be taking this year's Exwire authorization exam. I want everyone to keep in mind that once you're promoted to Exwire, you'll be subjected to more specialized combat training. The exam won't be easy to pass. Therefore, starting Monday, we're offering a week-long boot camp to prepare you for the exam."
Everyone in the class was seemingly surprised by the mention of a boot camp. "A boot camp?" I repeated, staring at Yukio who only smiled at everyone.
He walked forward, passing out papers to everyone, "Since attending the camp isn't mandatory, indicate whether or not you'll be participating on the form. If you are, please indicate the 'Meister' or 'Title' that you'd like to acquire. Turn the form in by Monday."
"A Meister... Or a title?" I stared down at the form in my hands, a confused and worried expression on my face. I didn't know what any of this stuff was. I looked back, seeing that Suguro guy with his friends and Alaina staring down at their papers, probably discussing which one they were going to go with.
Reluctantly, I swallowed my pride and stood up, walking over to their two desks. Shima noticed me beginning to walk over and elbowed Alaina who followed where he was looking. She smiled at me, waving her hand. I quirked a brow at her, curious about her greeting, and held out the paper in front of Suguro, waving back to her before focusing on Suguro. "Hey... Could you tell me what a Meister is?"
He stared up at me, seemingly already irritated, "Huh?"
My hand dropped and I stood in front of them awkwardly. "Um.. come on. Help me out here... Please?"
"Oh, give me a break! You wanna be an Exorcist, but you don't know what that is?! Seriously, what's with you?"
Shima laughed a bit. "You really are totally clueless, aren't you Okumura."
I frowned, "Fine. I don't have a clue. So are you gonna tell me or what?"
"I'll tell you." I looked over, seeing Konekomaru staring at me with a smile, "It's a technical qualification that's required to become an Exorcist. It's a title given to those who prove they've got great skills. There are five Meisters in all; Knight. Dragoon. Tamer. Aria, and Doctor. As long as you've acquired at least one of those, you can become an exorcist."
I sat down next to them, staring down at the sheet of paper, "Oh, okay. I think I get it now."
"No one said you could sit with us!"
"The other thing is, your style of combat will differ depending on which Meister you are."
I grinned at him, "Sweet. Thanks for explaining, Konekomaru. Which one are you going for?"
"Well, Shima and I are going to try for Aria."
"Hm?" I looked down at the sheet of paper, "Aria?"
"Aria is a Meister that battles demons by reciting passages from the Bible and other sacred scriptures."
Shima nodded, humming a bit, "Mhm. Bon here's gonna go for both Aria and Dragoon. 'Cause, he's all hard-core and everything."
"Wow. That's our Bon."
