"Akoni," T'Challa said.  "I will be holding a press conference with the U.N. tomorrow."  Akoni raised an eyebrow.  "You are going to reveal Wakanda's secrets?" he asked, catching on.  T'Challa nodded.  "Sorry, I can't come.  I have something to do here," Akoni explained.  "Very well," was all T'Challa said before walking off.

N'Jadaka's words echoed through Akoni's mind.  "You really think you're one of them?  T'Chaka must have brainwashed you well."  Akoni didn't know what that meant, but he knew at the very least... that he wasn't Wakandan.

Akoni walked over to one of Shuri's most famous inventions.  It identified DNA.  Akoni pricked his finger on a small needle and let the blood sample enter the compartment.

Akoni's eyes widened in shock.  As he looked upon the unfamiliar name that his DNA had produced.

Jake Amari.

Jake ran quickly through the Golden City to the throne room.  T'Challa had just returned from Vienna, and wondered why he was so distraught.  "What is this?" he asked, showing the Elders the biological information.  There was a silence.

T'Challa, Shuri, and M'Baku were just as confused as everyone else, but the elders looked down in silence.  The Merchant Tribe Elder was the first to speak up.  "18 years ago... a child was brought into this room by the leader of the Border Tribe," she monologued.

"He had found this child on the borders of our country.  If he was to leave him there he would have died," the Mining Tribe Elder added.

"This child, however, was not even one.  He had no memory of his family, or where he came from.  He was brought into Wakanda and raised as one of their own.  That child..." the River Tribe Elder continued.

"Was me," Jake concluded.  The elders all nodded in unison

"But... why didn't you tell me?" he asked, his voice breaking.  "T'Chaka... didn't want you to feel like an outsider," Ramonda explained.  Tears welled up in Jake's eyes.  He tried to hold them back to no avail.  "But that's what I am," he said, swiftly turning around and leaving.

Shuri followed after him.  She found him at his old home, fidgeting with one of his blades.  "Akoni..." she started.  "My name is Jake," he corrected.  "Did you know?"  Shuri shook her head in response.  "I don't even know who I am," he stated sadly.

"Well I do.  You are Akoni.  The man I've known since I was 9.  You are smart, loyal, and the most boring person I know.  And you are my best friend," Shuri admitted.  "I finished my bio.  My father is a drug runner who dumped me in Africa before I even had my first birthday."

There was a moment of silence.  "I can't... stay here.  I need to find him and find myself.  Thank you for everything Shuri," Jake finished, leaning close to her face and kissing her.  Shuri turned red and kissed back.  It was a long and passionate kiss.

"I love you Shuri."

"I love you too, Jake."

Jake walked through the quiet meadows of the Golden city outskirts.  One of the sheep grazing in the grass ran up to him.  "Baa!" he yelled.  "Good to see you too," he responded.

"It's been a while," a long-haired man said from inside the hut.  He exited to show his face.  "Hello James," Jake greeted.  James smiled in response.  "I've been telling you for months.  My friends call me Bucky."

Jake smiled solemnly.  "I'm leaving Wakanda.  There is... something I need to do.  I may be gone for a while.  I came to see if you needed anything else before I left," he explained.  "Your help with rehab was enough.  I should be fine.  Good luck on your journey," Bucky told him.  "Thank you.  Something tells me I'm going to need it."

"The Royal Talon fighter has enough supplies for a month, and enough fuel for 2 years.  I have wired 1 billion Wakandan dollars into your account.  Safe travels, my friend," T'Challa said to Jake from the royal hangar.  "T'Challa, I cannot ask you to do this."  T'Challa simply chuckled in response.

"By the way... Jake," he said in a more serious tone.  "I didn't know.  If I did I would have told you," he promised.  "It's okay," Jake reassured him.  "I'll go wherever the path takes me."  The two friends shook hands as Jake left to enter the craft.
