mikasa's pov:

"you know we could always just turn the car around and leave forever." eren said while bouncing his legs up and down in the passenger seat.

"no we have to get this over with it's going to be fine." i reassured him. that could be a complete lie. i'm just talking out of my ass right now to get him to calm down.

"how do you know?" he asked as i pulled into my spot to park.

i looked at him and smiled, "i don't."

"that's not helpful."

"well neither is you thinking of worst case scenarios. this won't be the end of the world and we'll be together no matter what." i said to him. this i am sure of.

"promise?" he asked a little nervous, but i could tell he was starting to calm down.

"yes." i kissed him before taking my seatbelt off and hopping out of the car.

i waited for eren to come around the car and i grabbed his hand. we began walking to the spot our group usually met at. we could see everyone gathered there in the distance. there was already a clear divide. jean, reiner, and bertholdt on one side and armin and annie on the other. the others stood in the middle.

"hey guys." armin said while annie gave me a hug.

"i haven't seen you in forever." she said.

"i know." i squeezed her tighter.

everyone sat down in a circle on the sand and it was silent for a few moments. welp this is completely awkward. do i have to say something first?

"mikasa and i are dating." eren blurted out. yeah no shit eren.

"no shit." jean said.

"watch it." i told him.

"hey let's not fight." historia began to say but reiner interrupted with, "no let's not act like them getting together then ditching the group is okay."

"especially since the last time we saw them eren beat the shit out of jean." bertoldt added.

"he didn't beat the shit out of me." jean said defensively.

"yeah the fuck he did." annie retorted.

"everyone shut up." i said getting frustrated. i should have known we would only argue like this.

"what, you think that you just show up here with your matching purple hair and act totally in love and all is forgiven? no not after what eren did." jean said. and just then eren was jumping off of his towel and towards jean to give him another black eye.

"hey!" connie shouted as he and armin pulled him back.

"can you all stop acting like idiots for once and actually just discuss the problem at hand? jean do you want to explain why eren hit you on the 4th of july?" armin asked.

"because he's a dickhead." jean replied.

"no because you were talking shit about mikasa." eren said and everyone besides eren, annie, armin, and me gasped. oh so literally no one knew the truth?

"wait what'd he say?" sasha asked.

"listen i don't know if you remember because you can't handle your fucking alcohol," eren began to say as he turned to face jean, "but after everyone realized me and mikasa fucked jean said that i could have his sloppy seconds because she was shit in bed anyways."

"wait you slept with both of them?" ymir asked me while everyone looked shocked.

"no i didn't jean is a fucking liar." i said.
