i'm mikasa.

mikasa's pov:

hi i'm mikasa ackerman. i'm 16 years old and i live in charleston south carolina. i live roughly 10 minutes from my favorite beach too.

my mom's name is nadine and my dad's name is james. my mom works from home as a graphic designer and my dad works for some company that buys and sells land. his job must be pretty important because he goes to work in a suit and tie everyday.

i don't know much about what he does though. all i know is his company hosts events sometimes to bring in other companies and i'm expected to attend. i really don't mind though because it gives me an excuse to get dressed up.

i have one brother. his name is levi. he's much older than me so we're not super close but he always looks out for me. sometimes he plays the part of protective older brother too much.

he's a psychology professor at a college about 3 hours from here so during summer break he stays with us. i'm glad because my parents have started arguing recently so i don't have to endure it alone.

my family is super close with the jaegers. our parents grew up together so by default eren and i grew up together too.

we used to be close but now i guess we're not. we always argue because he's an asshole but i put him in his place most of the time.

of course he's in the same friend group as i am. me, eren, armin, historia, annie, ymir, sasha, connie, jean, reiner, and bertholdt hang out all the time.

speaking of which i just got a text from 🔥😍1 wheel down 🙌🏻. you're probably wondering why the group chat is named that. One night a bunch of us were on the golf carts at historia's dad's golf course. eren came up with the great idea that we should race two of them.

anyways eren was driving one and in the front was me in the middle, armin on my right, and annie on his lap. sasha and connie were standing up in the back.

jean was driving the other one with historia and ymir in the front. while reiner and bertholdt sat in the back.

we planned out a whole course that even went through part of the woods. eren was driving like an absolute idiot and insisted we take a short cut to increase our chances of winning. i told him it was a horrible idea because it was dark and we couldn't see anything but he didn't listen to me of course.

we ended up flying off of a 6 foot drop and nearly tipped the thing. eren some how managed to drift the golf cart just at the right time so we would stay upright but one of the wheels came off in the process. connie and sasha also fell off the back because they were standing up and lost their balance.

everyone was okay though, no injuries, just a few bruises and scrapes. needless to say we lost the race.

i sent a text in the chat saying i'd be there only to be met with attitude from eren. bitch boy.

just then there was a knock on the door, "mika can i come in?" i heard my mom say.

"yeah." i replied.

"i need to talk to you about something." she said coming in and sitting on the bed. "so the jaegers invited us to go to Florida with them for a couple weeks this summer do you want to go?"

"i don't know mom i was sorta hoping i'd spend the whole summer here with my friends." i told her really not wanting to go, especially if eren was going to be there.

"are you sure it could be a great opportunity for you to spend time with eren." she told me.

"for the last time mom i can't stand him." i said rolling my eyes.

"keep tellin yourself that." she replied winking at me. i almost gagged.

"stop it mom."

"alright alright, you don't have to go but are you going to be okay here by yourself?"

"yeah i'll be fine plus i doubt levi is going to go so he can take care of me."

"you're right i suppose. get some sleep you have school in the morning." she said before kissing me on the the forehead.

"okay love you."

"love you." she said while closing my door.

i turned my music on and laid on my bed scrolling through instagram. i then received a text from the girl's group chat.

i really don't have to be to bed for another hour so i decided to read a book. i picked out shakespeare's romeo and juliet. i've read it about 100 times but it never gets old.

i love reading almost as much as i love music. i'd like to say my music taste is pretty well-versed. i like almost everything besides country. i have a record player as well as a cd player and a caset player.

if i'm not reading or listening to music i enjoy working out. i don't really go to the gym because that is so embarrassing, but i like to go on runs. gotta keep that bikini bod ya know.

more than anything i love spending time with my friends. they're really great people and they're always there for me whenever i need them. and we do some pretty stupid shit sometimes.

we love playing truth or dare and we almost never back down from any question or task even when it gets us in trouble.

i looked at the clock and realized i should probably get to sleep. i don't want to be tired tomorrow so i set my alarm for 6:15 am and went to bed.
