Chapter Sixteen

Dustins POV

I didn’t have time for this shit but I have to admit it was going to be fun watching this. Kiara trained with wolves despite not having hers. She knows the maneuvers, the take downs, the anchor points and every weak spot imaginable. Our father taught us that from an early age. Thinking about my father made me
begin to think about my own child I was about to bring into the world. Having lost mine at such an impressionable age, made me want to secure a peaceful future for my child. I was a little stressed between having to train the redwoods warriors, assist Alpha Ethan and Alpha Wyatt with planning and preparing for attacks, being here for my sister, and being a loving and present husband/mate to Alyssa who was carrying my child. It helped having Ryan but he had been acting strangely the last couple days. I looked over at him and looked clearly aggravated. He was watching Jason make a fool of himself and I
couldn’t tell if he was annoyed by his behavior or that he was challenging my sister who Ryan clearly found attractive. I had seen his change in behavior towards her and it didn’t surprise me but I couldn’t quite figure out his intentions. He can find her attractive, that’s fine but if he’s not her mate and he’s wanting something with her, best friend or not, him and I would be exchanging some words. I don’t want to see her go through Tyler Episode 2.
I watched Kiara get up from the bleachers and slowly walk down to the arena where we all were standing. Everyone had cleared and made a circle except for that arrogant son of a bitch show off mocking my sister. The look on my sister’s face was priceless. She was smiling but this smile was one of
those “im about to kick your ass and enjoy it smile” not a “oh im having so much fun smile”. She needed
to have some fun outside of this. I overheard Keely talk about taking her off the compound. I know I shouldn’t have but in wolf form our sense of hearing is heightened and yes, I eavesdropped. Actually.. this could be a win-win. I can bring Alyssa along and still spend time with Kiara. Alyssa, Kiara and Keely
could even do their girl thing, shopping or whatever. Id drag Ryan along so I wasn’t the only cock in the henhouse. When Kiara came face to face with Jason she looked him up and down like a tree and smirked. This was clearly a jab at his manhood and it worked. Jason began to transform and it was so quiet that the sound of his bones cracking and limbs lengthening seemed louder than what it should be. This didn’t seem to
phase Kiara at all. I watched Jason lunge at her and Kiara slide under his body grabbing his back legs and throwing him against the wall. Instead of making impact he jumped off and collided into Kiara.
We watched them roll a good six feet before Jason was on top of her snapping his teeth at her, saliva dripping from his mouth. Kiara wrapped both legs around his neck and flipped him over on his side giving her enough time to get back up. They ran at each other and at right before they were about to collide, Kiara ducked to one knee and grabbed Jason’s throat, clenching it so tight that it made him
whimper.

“Enough” I hear Ryan shout. “I think we’ve seen enough” and he walked towards Kiara and Jason. Kiara
released her grip from Jason who was transforming back into a human. He stood up and smiled at her
extending his hand. I could hear the whispers and growls of everyone who encircled them. They were that of fear and curiosity and shock as they saw Jason swallow his pride.

“you’ll have to teach me that one of these days” Jason said looking at Ryan before walking off.

Did Jason actually show a sign of humility. I laughed internally as I walked to Kiara, Ryan and Keely who
was beside Kiara still going on about going off compound.

“I think it’s a great idea” I said interrupting Keely’s chatter about some boutique she “absolutely loved
and just HAD to take Kiara to”

“you do?” Kiara said, Ryan looked at me confused and Keelys eyes got bigger with excitement now that the big brother gave his approval.

“yeah” I reassured her. “actually lets all go. Keely, Zach, Ryan, Me, Alyssa and you”
Keely chimed in “ok then! Lets meet at the packhouse around 1800. Dustin, if you don’t mind, im going to take Kiara shopping before meeting up with you all.”

“yeah that’s fine. Try to keep the guys off her” I laughed over my shoulder as I walked out of the arena.
