DUSTINS POV

I couldnt believe it. Of course a part of me was happy but the feeling of hurt outweighed it all and it wasnt just the hurt that my uncle and only surviving relative besides Kiara knew I was alive and wasnt a part of my life as a young wolf but that my mother never told me about him, or anyone in her family.
Despite my rage, I could understand it all and that frustrated me too, I didnt WANT to be angry but I didnt want to justify everyone's hurtfuI actions against me either. I arrived home and after changing, crawled into bed with Alyssa who had been sleeping. Looking at her pregnant belly that still wasnt showing yet made me realize that I needed to make peace with it and that now my child, my half werewolf child had someone else besides Kiara that he or she could call family on my side, and he was a Lycan.

RYANS POV

I watched Gabriel walk into Kiaras cabin, slowly taking it all in. I wondered where he had been staying all this time while he had been watching us. Interrupting my thoughts, he turned to face us as we stood in the door way.
"Thank you for your hospitality" he said calmly.

"we'll figure something else out tomorrow" I said.

He only half smiled and nodded.
Kiara stepped forward and embraced him in a hug. He was hesitant but not because the gesture was unwanted but because Kiara had actually taken him by surprise. She had taken me by surprise actually. I stayed leaning against the doorway and looked at Gabriel and Kiara standing before me. A girl I loved and her uncle who just showed up unexpectedly, both Lycans and both deadly yet right now they were soft and vulnerable. I liked seeing Kiara this way. She was sexy as hell as a warrior but this softness of her reminded me of the little girl I grew up with who I realize now, I was in love with, even back then.

Gabriel gently held the small heart shaped crystal under his forefinger and then looked up at me raising an eye brow.
I casually looked up giving him a wry smile. Kiara just rolled her eyes and grabbed it.

"That was you that night of the storm wasnt it?" She laughed nervously.

"I didnt think you saw me" he said with a little surprise in his voice.

"I wasnt so sure myself at first. uh, how long have you been following me?"

"Since Shasta lake" in a matter of fact tone.

Kiara stayed silent.
He steadied his gaze upon her again. He looked at her like she was his own daughter full of love and admiration. She could definitely pass for his.

"You look so much like Selene" he whispered.
Hearing this comment, Kiara just smiled.
She reminded him of her, his only sister and his baby sister at that. With that thought, I was reminded of the bond Dustin and Kiara have and of his protective nature. Gabriel probably feels guilt that while he was protecting everyone else, he couldn't protect his sister and here her child, his blood was standing before him, looking just like her.

"Its getting late and we have a long day tomorrow. We need to get on top of this Michael situation" speaking up and stepping forward extending my hand.
I watched him straighten, shedding his softness and firmly gripping my hand.

"Youre correct alpha"

Hearing him say this reminded me again of the digging feeling that I was dodging my "destiny" and until I did something about it, something would still feel incomplete inside of me.

"well we better get going. let me know if you need anything Gabriel" I quickly replied not wanting to get lost in my thoughts here.
I shook his hand one more time and watched him hug Kiara before we transformed and ran back to my cabin.

Kiaras POV

I took a little longer in the shower than usual allowing myself to process all I had heard today and preparing myself for the challenges that lie ahead. When I got out, Ryan was waiting for me, sitting on the edge of the bed, shirtless and only in basketball shorts. I would never tire of seeing him like this. He reached for me, grabbing my hand and leading me to where he sat on the edge of the bed. With the towel still around me, I straddled him and wrapped both my arms around him, resting on his shoulders. He pulled my wet hair from one side of my neck to the other and played with it, twirling it in his fingers.
"you ok?" he asked with an affectionate expression.
I could only smile for a moment as I stared into those beautiful blue eyes and looked over his face, black hair falling around his temples and his usually crooked smile, serious now.
