KIARAS POV

I sat on the beach at sunset, turning only to see Ryan pulling up in Craigs chevelle. I watched William jump out of the back seat and run towards me yelling "mom! Dadda brought us to see you!" He jumped into my arms, this little boy who had his dad's hair, eyes and smile. Today was his 5th birthday and just like his dad, he loved the beach.
"Momma, read to me again that story about the beach" he pleaded.

I gave birth to William Gabriel Emerson 5 years ago today, six months after the death of Craig. We named him after Craig and my uncle. William being Craigs middle name. Every year, we came to this spot at the beach and collected shells and ocean stones. I would gift him the bracelet his dad gave me on his 18th birthday I decided. Things had been peaceful since the battle in the valley. The Bloodmoon had been freed of their evil reign and I knew one day that William would be called upon to take his rightful place as their Alpha.

"Let's wait for dadda shall we?" I responded and turned my head to see Ryan coming down the dune carrying our twins in each arm and the diaper bag on his back.
Ryan had been there for me after Craigs death, just like he had been after my parents, during my transformation, when I got lost in the woods and so many other times. I would always have Craig in my heart but Ryan had healed it and he occupied it as well.

William only knew Ryan as his dad. We had decided we would tell him when he turned 18. We would tell him about the mighty man and wolf his biological father and Ryan's best friend was.
Two years after having William, Ryan and I had twins. One boy and one girl.
Caleb Ryan and Cadence Selene. Ryan and I had become mates, me being convinced he was my second chance mate destined by the moon goddess. He had been successful leading the Silvermoon as their Alpha and I as their Luna. We had our fraternal twins and coincidentally enough, Caleb looked just like him while Cadence resembled me the most.

Dustin and Alyssa had given birth to a beautiful little girl. It was quite the sight seeing my brother having a girl. He became beta to our pack and our children were best friends, playing in the same places Dustin and I grew up in. Dustin had left the redwood pack shortly after the battle, completing what he intended to do, train packs. We had formed alliances with all the werewolf packs and even the vampires. The witches stayed to themselves but we no longer had bad blood. Janeens Coven had grown with her sisters children inheriting the gift of magic.

My uncle Gabriel finally worked up the nerve to mate Lennox and while they lived in Deutschland with the remaining hidden lycans they would eventually find, they were on their way tonight for Williams birthday.
They had reestablished the lycan kingdom and for the first time in a long time, had a peaceful rule. I also knew one day my son would be called as the only male heir. This little boy didn't realize yet what a magnificent destiny, bigger than himself, he has ahead of him.

True to tradition, we all sat on the sand together. Ryan with Cadence on his lap,Caleb on mine and William sat in the middle opening the book, his biological father had given his best friend all those years ago. I looked down at my boy, thinking about the future he had ahead of him as he read.

"Leave your worries by the shore line, and run your bare feet through the sand, let the water be a soft bed, when you cannot bear to stand"

Ryan looked at me as he read. "I love you" he whispered with a smile.
"I love you too" I replied.

THE END

Authors note.

I cannot put into words how much I appreciate you all being with me along this journey and the love and support you all have given me. This was my first story and I went into it with no instruction or any idea how to properly write a story.
I need you to know that this story was based on true events with names having been changed

At 19, I met a marine, who I would fall in love with after me and my highschool/childhood sweetheart would go our separate ways due to me going to nursing school and him to the military after high school.

I would meet him when I was enlisting myself and while my time with this marine was short, it impacted my life and touched my soul. We fell in love. He would eventually die on a deployment before the birth of our son.

While this marine and my high school sweetheart were not childhood friends, they had become acquainted.
We would eventually reunite after his death and have children of our own.
I wrote this story to remember the man I loved and lost but also to give honor. Honor to him and honor to the man who stepped up when he didn't have to.

I hope you all enjoyed this story. I'm debating on writing one more true to actual events that is not sci-fi. I'm also thinking about writing a sequel to this one, where the offspring of Kiara,Craig,Ryan and Dustin have grown up and now must accept their destinies.
I'm always welcoming of suggestions.
Again, thank you all.
