Part 2

A couple of weeks later the school year finished which meant it was now summer holidays for 7 weeks. The summer holidays were full of fun for the 3 children. Benji kept playing in the drive way with his new rugby ball. Penelope spent her days doing fashion shows for Mildred and Oris, although Oris was never interested in watching it and Luzia spent her days in her bedroom drawing and playing guitar alone.

On a warm summers day in the middle of August, 3 little envelopes came through the post box. The 3 children and their mother were eating their breakfast that consisted of sausages, bacon, toast and eggs. Sarah stuck with her usual bacon and sausage where's the kids ate some eggs on the side. Suddenly, they heard Mildred, the chef, come into the dining room holding 3 envelopes for each child.

"Special delivery!" She shouted while entering the room.

All 3 kids stopped eating and looked up from their plates at her.

"What is it, mum?" Asked Penelope.

Mildred passed the 3 envelopes to Sarah so she could inspect them.

"Hmm, it looks like these are your Hogwarts letters." Said Sarah passing them out to each child.

All 3 kids looked at the outside of the letter and read the writing on it. The writing said;

Dear (their name)

A big house, Fort William, Scotland.

"Can we open them now?" Asked Benji.

"Wait until you have finished breakfast please." Said Sarah sternly.

All 3 children put the letters down and continued to eat. There was now a small buzz in the room, a buzz of excitement.

After all the children had finished eating and cleaned their plates away they all returned to their seats and picked up their letters.

"Can we open them now?" Asked Penelope.

"Yes."

One by one each child opened their letter starting with the oldest, Benji. Benji ripped open the letter and pulled out 2 pieces of paper, one being the actual letter and the other being a list of supplies he will need for his first day. Luzia did the same and so did Penelope when it was her turn.

Each letter said;

Dear (Their name),

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of necessary books and equipment that you'll need.

Your term starts on the 1st of September.

Yours sincerely, Professor McGonagall, Head Teacher.

"Wow, this is so cool, mum." Said Benji looked exited.

"Yeah and the 1st of September is only 2 weeks away, we better hurry and buy our things." Said Penelope.

Luzia just stared at her letter silently with no reaction on her face.

"I think we'll buy your things on the 31st of August, then it will be easier for us to quickly get onto the Hogwarts Express on September 1st without having to pass through Diagon Alley when it's really busy." Said Sarah.

Luzia put her letter down and checked her equipment list. "It says that we will need 2 different books, one for potions and the other for defence against the dark arts, quills and a broomstick although if we do not have a broomstick, school will supply us with one every flying lesson."

"Yes, that seems correct." Said Sarah.

"Mum, did you go to Hogwarts? Or did dad?" Asked Benji.

"No, I went to a different French school, Beauxbatons, your dad went to a horrible school called Durmstrang."
