1:00 p.m.
After driving through the Purple Sea Lake City, we get to Adrian and Ai's house. We get out of the car then we grab our bags and go into the house.
"I'll lead you two to your room," Adrian says as we walk through the foyer. "Or rooms?"
Song looks at me and I look at him, "Room...?"
I nod, "Room."
Adrian looks between us then nods. We follow Adrian through the hallway beside the stairs.
Adrian opens the first door on the right and gestures for us to go inside, we're met with an overwhelming large room. A large, fully black bed sits in the middle of the room; two nightstands are on both sides of the bed; and a dresser with a vanity mirror sits against the left wall. All the furniture in the room is black while the interior and floor is burgundy.
Song sets the duffle bag by the bed as he looks around. Somehow, this room really fits him. He gives off a dark aura, but it's beautiful.
"You can sleep on the bed," he says and knocks me out of my thoughts. "I'll sleep on the floor."
I chuckle as I set the things I was carrying down, then I jump onto the bed, "The bed is big for the four of us. You can sleep on it too."
"...We'll see."
"Well, if you're uncomfortable...you don't have to."
"I'm not..." —he chuckles— "I just don't want you rolling over and laying on me."
I lightly chuckle too as I lay down, "I won't, I won't. I'll stay on my side."
"Then...we'll see."
I nod as I get my grandparents' fuzzy blanket out of my duffle bag. I pull it onto the bed with me as I hug it, I rub it against my face as I sigh.
Adrian says something to Song, then he leaves while Adrian stays behind.
Adrian comes over to the bed then rubs my head, "I wish that you didn't have to go through this. It can all be so hard on a young mind; on any mind, really."
"I w-wish that I didn't either."
"Just know that you're not alone. ...I lost my machwa lobanmachwa loban."
I sit up as I rub my eyes,, "Yo-you did?"
She nods, "He was taken away by a tiger during the second month. I haven't seen him since. One can only hope he's alive but...is that even something to actually hold onto?"
"I'm...very sorry to hear th-that."
Adrian's head shakes and tears sit in her eyes, "He would want me to keep going. And I'm very, very sure that your grandparents want you to keep going. I know that you've lost them, but I'm sure they're looking at you from *lyi'popi; and they're cheering you on. Try to not slow down. Stay strong for them. That's what I do for my machwa loban."
I nod as Adrian rubs my hand, I take in a deep breath as I try to hold in my tears. Adrian looks into my eyes and it just makes it harder. Aiyah, it really hurts to hold it in. I start sobbing and Adrian pulls me into her shoulder.
"When we find somewhere safe, we'll have a lantern service for our families, okay?"
"We...w-won't be able to get their...their bodies, will we?"
"I'm sorry, I don't think we will be able to." Adrian grabs my hands and looks at me, "Have you read the note your grandparents left you?"
"No...I have-haven't."
