Philip sneers down at me, my cheek bleeding profusely. "Are you too proud to beg?" He snaps, grabbing my face so I would look at him. I wince as he puts pressure on my wound. "Come on Julian, beg for your life." Philip says in a taunting manor, his frustration only growing.
I sit in silence, glancing at Athena. She shakes her head, silently telling me no.
"Or..." Philip steps towards her, forcefully pulling her so she stood in front of me. He rests his sword uncomfortably close to her neck. "Will you beg for her life?"
My eyes widen " No, you can't!" I yell at him. I try to stand up but the guards kick me back into my kneeled position.
Philip slowly cuts into Athena's shoulder. She screams in pain. "Beg Julian, and I might just spare her." He sneers.
I glance at the ground, hesitating slightly. I couldn't give him the satisfaction of me begging. "I- your fight is with me Philip, not her. If you're going to kill someone, kill me." I tell him.
"Julian, no!" Athena says, reaching for me. Philip pulls her back by her injured shoulder, causing her to gasp.
"That's not what I asked Julian." Philip pushes her on the ground, into a kneeled position. "I will kill her." Philip pulls her head back by her hair, placing the sword by her neck. Athena squeezes her eyes shut, tears falling down her face.
"Okay fine!" I snap. Give up your pride Julian, it's not worth it. "Please do-don't kill her. I beg...I beg you." I look at the ground, my face slowly turning red. Gosh, that was embarrassing.
"You'll have to do better than that Prince." Philip snaps.
I swallow, looking up at Philip. "Please she's the only thing I have that means more than anything. I beg you, please don't hurt her. Please." I look between Philip and Athena, hoping it was enough.
Philip clicks his tongue. "I think not." He says, looking me in the eyes. A cold chill runs down my spine. "Say goodbye to your pretty little princess." He presses the sword against Athena's neck.
"No!" I shove off the guards holding me. I grab Philip's arm, pulling it away from Athena and shoving him back as hard as I could. "Athena go!" I tell her.
Philip tries to shove me back but I continue to hold on to his arm. I hit him right in the face. "Let me go!" I hear Athena yell. I look towards Athena and right when I do that, Philip shoves me back and hits me.
I stumble back. "You have caused me too much trouble." Philip yells at me. "It's time I got rid of you."
The guards grab me again, forcing me back to my knees. "Say goodnight prince." Philip taunts.
I gasp as the blade goes through my stomach. "No! Julian!" Athena yells. Philips pulls the sword out just as swiftly as it went in. I fall to my back as pain sears through my whole body.
I gasp, sitting straight up in my bed. I rub my eyes, my hands shaking rapidly. Sweat dripped down from my forehead.
That dream felt so vivid and real. I glance at my wife, sleeping next to me. I let out a sigh of relief. It was just a dream, this was reality not that.
Athena rolls over so her face was towards me. "What's wrong dear?" She mumbles, eyes still closed.
I smooth her hair, smiling softly at her. "Nothing. Just go back to sleep."
"You know I don't trust you when you say that."
I kiss her forehead. "I know."
A soft knock sounds at my door, quickly followed by loud banging and yelling. "Julian! Get out here!" Donnie yells. "Or I'm going to kick open this door! I don't care what you and the missus are doing in there!"
