Jett
When Maddy left on her date with that peppy douche, my sister and Cleo jumped on me. Not letting up at all. Neither of them could understand what I was trying to do. Which was protect their friend.
"What is with you?" Kierra asked me, arms crossed, hip popped out.
"Yeah. Why are you so adamant that she doesn't date Clark? He seems like an okay guy," Cleo stands the same way as my sister.
I run my hand down my face, "I just don't trust the guy. I'm sure he's as bad as his brother."
"If siblings were as alike as you are insinuating, then I would have slept around in high school," Kierra points out.
I narrow my eyes at her, studying her face, "did you?"
"Oh my God," she groans, "no!" Thank God her face didn't look like she was lying. I would have to fly home and beat every guy I could find that was her age before looking up any that moved away for college and hunt them down one by one. "Why don't you just leave. Go home or find a girl to take home. Either way, leave Maddy alone and stop being her father's spy." She opened the door for me and I know that there isn't any point in arguing with her.
I went straight home and drank with Darren and Kenley for the rest of the night. I may have had too much which wasn't the best idea but that seemed to be a theme with me lately, so I said to hell with it.
I got lucky and only woke up with a slight hangover. I decided to sweat it out at the gym. Feeling better after and just a little sore, I showered and put on a suit. I had a lunch meeting with a potential client before I could relax for the rest of the day. The meeting went great, and he agreed to come to the office the next day and sign a contract.
I walked into the apartment to find Kenley sitting on the couch. Right in the middle like she did when we weren't all there. "Hey, there," she smiled and moved to the end.
I sat down beside her, "Hey."
"Everything good?"
"Yeah. Tired. Gym then a meeting. Probably shouldn't have had so much to drink last night," I run my hands through my hair, using the movement to try and shove the thoughts running through my head to the back of my mind. I didn't want to think about Maddy and the douche and what may have happened when the date was over. I really didn't want to think about why it was bothering me more than it should for just being as Kierra put it, 'her dad's spy'. "How's work?" I ask Kenley so I can focus on something else.
"Great. My last shoot led to another really amazing one. I will be going out of town next week. You boys will have the place to yourself for a month."
"Really? Where to?"
"Paris," she beams. I can see and nearly feel the excitement pouring off her.
"That's awesome." I am happy for her.
"I know. They are paying for everything. The shoot is only for few days, but they offered to pay for a whole month if I agreed to sign a year contract to be the face of their new line!" Kenley had been modeling since she was really young. Her mom had started it to live vicariously through her and she ended up loving it. She is the girly girl that loves make-up, clothes, and new shoes. She can get down with the guys too, but she will make sure her lipstick is perfect at the same time. "Anyway," she smirks, "how are things going with that Maddy girl?"
I throw my head back and look up at the ceiling with a groan. "Nothing is going on. It's really not like that." I had tried to tell her that the first night Darren had brought up Maddy. Neither of them seem to believe me though.
