Okay, I've got a plan. But how do I actually start? You thought. Where do I begin?

You thought about your last conversation with Niklaus on Tuesday about your relationship with him. It made you feel terrible that it could be the last thing you said to him. Neither of you was on bad terms, but he didn't understand how you felt. Or maybe he did? He just isn't willing to accept it.

*FLASHBACK TO TUESDAY NIGHT*

"Niklaus?", You shouted in the common room. Where is he?

"Up here! Sorry, I was just saying night to Ron and Seamus", Niklaus shouted back from the staircase.

"It's cool. Can we talk, please?"-Y/N

"Yeah, what's up?" Nik asked you giving you a curious look. Very boyish and innocent. It was cute.

"I know that we said that we liked each other and I've liked you for the longest time, but why now?"-Y/N

"What do you mean?"-Nik

"Like how long, why? It's very sudden. Normally I can predict things that you do. But I never expected this or us"-Y/N

"I don't know, I just do. For the past few months, I have liked you Y/N"-Nik

"Months? We've barely hung out and before you had a girlfriend. Did you break up with her because of me?"-Y/N

"No, I didn't. In fact, I lost feelings for her. I wanted more, and she wasn't what I wanted I realized", Nik said sounding gruff.

"What do you want?"-Y/N

"There are things out there that are much bigger than us. I want someone I can be a powerful duo with. Take on the world between the two of us. That is what I see when I look at you", Nik said looking at you sternly.

"Nik, I appreciate that. But I still don't think I understand why you want me now when you could've had me before. I'm pretty sure you knew what I felt for you. Yet you flirted with other girls and I was always the second option. Why is now different?"-Y/N

"No, I know what this is about. You want to break it off between us. Why are you doing this? You know I would never lie to you about my feelings"-Nik

"Nik...I never accused you of lying. I just want to understand the situation better", You said eyeing him up. Raising your eyebrows, you looked into his eyes trying to read his expression.

"You just did lie", You said as a matter of factly.

"What?"-Nik said mouth open in disbelief.

" You're hiding something. Maybe you didn't lie, but you're not telling me something either"-Y/N

"Why does it matter if what I feel is true for you?"-Nik

"Because I don't actually believe what you feel is genuine. Or it is, and you have an ulterior motive"-Y/N

"Y/N do you hear yourself. When have I ever gone against you for anything?"-Nik

"You're up to something. Tell me, is it to protect me from something?"-Y/N

"I-Protect you? Oh yeah sure, let's go with that if it'll stop you from having one of your nervous wrecks"-Nik sighed.

"See, the Niklaus I know would never say that. He would never say that to my face even if that's what you're really thinking. Because the Niklaus I know always tries to cheer people up. I knew it"-Y/N

Nik didn't say anything. He crossed his arms and looked down at the floor.

"Nik you're my best friend. I care about you. But I honestly have not been feeling the way I used to about you. It's still somewhat there. But it's lacking. I think it's best we see other people. And since we aren't being honest with each other, I'm going to put it to an end now. It might hurt to see you with other people. I'll get over it until the time comes where it actually is right for us to continue where we left off"-Y/N
