As you and Kakashi approach Sasuke, the male tightens his hold on your hand. "Don't use Akira, I cant watch you die again." He murmurs.

You put on a small smile and nod, coming to a halt in front of the raven haired boy. "They only want Y/N." He says. You let go of Kakashi's hand and nod, starting to walk away.

"Wait, Y/N-sensei!" Naruto calls out and grabs your hand. Turning around, you see everyone, including Jiraiya and Etsuko. "Yeah?"

The blond jumps onto you and gives you a thumbs up while hugging you. "Stay safe, alright! We'll be rooting for you from here! The Akatsuki member is around the corner into the woods a bit." His sunny smile makes you also smile and carefully hug him back, absorbing the boy's warmth.

"I will, Naruto."

I can't help it. Kushina and Minato aren't
here, and I know they'd want me to.

You gently place the boy on the floor and Kakashi walks up to you, grabbing your hand. "We'll be headed out of the village. Meet up with us when you're finished. Head West along the path, Jiriaya will be coming with us as well because apparently he needs to speak with you."

As he speaks, everyone can see the chemistry between the way you both look into each other's eyes. The kids find it fascinating, the way that you and Kakashi are able to somehow have this bond, yet nothing romantic has happened between you— nothing they've witnessed at least.
