You run up to the team and slow down, stopping your sprinting feet by using Kakashi's shoulder as a halt.

As soon as the man simply feels your hand, all of his worries disappear, knowing your safe. He didn't even have to see your face to know that it's you.

"You're back!" Naruto exclaims before anyone else can say anything.

You nod and stand up straight, laughing a bit. "Mhm. Sorry it took longer than expected." Kakashi simply shakes his head and throws an arm around your shoulder, walking along with everyone else, ignoring Etsuko's still sickened face. "As long as you're safe."

Jiraiya slows down from the front and comes to your side, signaling for you to fall back with him. Kakashi also catches the man's drift and ushers everyone ahead, leaving hearing range.

When you're alone, he places a hand on your exposed shoulder and looks at the sky. "So, why did the Akatsuki want you?" He suspiciously asks.

You keep your straight demeanor and shrug, absorbing the warmth of his large hand. "Akira, that's why. The man was basically just asking me to join in their quest. Nothing else though." You half-lie.

Jiraiya lifts an eyebrow and squints his eyes, not believing you. "Why though? You'd think they would try and kill you, right?" His voice is still suggesting and suspicious, but you simply focus on your hidden self. "Jiraiya-sensei, I really don't have a clue."

"So you're telling me you were never part of the Akatsuki. Because I know you were."
