You awoke a day later with a horrible headache, you groaned as you sat yourself up on your bed. You looked around your room to find everything in its place, nothing was missing as far as you could tell. You got up and changed out of your dirty clothes, you changed into some shorts and a white t-shirt. As you tried to piece together the events leading up to when you woke up, you found the letter Tommy had left for you on the table. Needless to say, you cried for hours. He never was a bother to you, nor did he ever cause you issues. He was the son you never had.

Dream and Tommy made their way back to L'Manburg, only to hear about the execution of the infamous Blood God, Technoblade. It was due in a day's time. The Butchers Army was already on their way back with Technoblade as the two of them heard from the others that stayed to make preparations. Tommy was unsure on how everything would go, he knew Techno's ruthlessness and sheer power, so he was a bit uncertain on how everything would go. Dream seemed un-bothered by everything going on with Techno, many suspected that Dream was rivals with the piglin hybrid, so Tommy guessed that's why he seemed to be dismissive about the execution.

On the day of the execution, Tommy couldn't find Dream anywhere. The execution failed, and Techno escaped after taking one of Quackity's cannon lives and escaping though the sewers of sorts. (I recommend watching SAD-IST's animation 'Hog Hunt', I really can't write down the entire event without it taking up most of this chapter-)

A week passed since the tree incident, you had tried your best to work through the headaches, but half way through the day you had to rest for a few hours so you could continue working the rest of the day. You were resting on your couch when you heard a knock on your door. You were confused, Tommy pretty much stated in his letter he wouldn't be coming back, and Sam's next visit wasn't for another week or so. You carefully got up and looked through the peephole of your door, you saw a man, he was a translucent grey color with dark grey hair, and a yellow sweater with a slash on it. He was holding what seemed to be a lead of sorts.

You carefully opened the door to see his face light up,

"Hello!" he had a very cheerful voice, it was a bit soothing, "I've lost Friend, can you help me look for him?" You cocked your head to the side,

"You've lost a friend? Do you know what they look like?" You asked, he seemed to be too friendly and cheerful to do you any harm, so you thought this might be a good distraction from what happened,

"Yeah, I lost Friend." He showed you the lead, "He's blue and helps me remember things!"

"Alright, let's go find your friend." You presumed that the man had amnesia, and thought that his friend was wearing something blue and reminded him to do things. "Where was the last time you saw him?" You asked, you wanted to help, after all, he seemed like a sweet guy.

"I dunno. I was walking with Friend and then I looked back and I couldn't find him." The man stated, he pointed out towards your gate and down the forest path, "I was walking on that path right there."

"I see... I'll help you then sir, I'm (Y/N)." You introduced yourself, you held out your hand for him to shake if he wanted to. He smiled a bit as he tried to shake your hand, but his went through yours.

"I'm Ghostbur! You have a very pretty name (Y/N)!" He smiled a bit, you recognized the name, it was one of the ghosts that roamed the area of where Tommy lived, the old president and founder of L'Manburg, Wilbur. YOu smiled a little at the complement, it was nice to hear,

"Thank you Ghostbur, I like yours too!" You returned the compliment, you opened the door fully for him, "Why don't you come inside for a bit while I get my things?" You asked as you went into your home, Ghostbur nodded and went inside as well. The ghost admired your home, you had item frames with pressed flowers, and pictures of you and your parents when you were younger. The ghost was looking at a bookshelf in your living room, it was an album of baby pictures of yours your parents made when they built the place, he was flipping through the pages of the album when you came into the living room.

You had packed a bag with a (f/c) blanket, some flint and steel, two water bottles, and some food for the trip since you didn't know how long it would take. Ghostbur didn't seem to hear you come in, he just seemed to continue to look at the vibrantly colored pictures of you and your parents. You walked over and looked at the album, it's been a while since you looked at it. He was on the page where the three of you went fishing, one of your parents held you up while the other held the small fish you caught.

"That's an old photo." You remarked, Ghostbur seemed to jump at the sound of your voice as he looked over to see you, you looked over and smiled a little, "Let's go find your friend." The ghost nodded a bit as he put the album on the shelf. You opened the door and the two of you walked out in search of his friend.

---

It's been a few hours since you set off with Ghostbur, you two chatted a bit while you looked for his friend, which you learned was a blue sheep that was named 'Friend'. It was already getting dark, and the nearing of winter wasn't making the weather didn't make it any better. You shivered a bit as the night set in, you two still didn't find the sheep,

"Are you cold (Y/N)?" The ghost asked as he looked over to you, even though you dressed warmly in a thick wool sweater and jeans, it was still a bit cold,

"A little, but don't worry about me, let's go find Friend!" You smiled warmly, the ghost seemed to follow your optimism as he floated next to you. A few minutes passed and the two of you heard a ba. You looked over to see a blue sheep, it was standing there.

"Friend!" Ghostbur yelled in joy as he floated towards the sheep, the sheep ba'd as the ghost put the lead on him. Ghostbur seemed to be overjoyed to get his sheep back, he hugged the sheeps wool and then waved you over,

"Thank you for helping me find him (Y/N)!" You walked over to the two and smiled a little,

"It's no problem Ghostbur." You looked at the sheep in front of you, Friend moved closer to you and nudged your hand, you've never meet such a friendly sheep, even the ones on your farm aren't this friendly. You carefully petted Friends head as Ghostbur watched in amazement,

"Friend really likes you!" He commented as he stood next to you, you giggled a bit and responded,

"I guess so." You smiled at the ghost, his chest seemed to tighten for a second as he saw you smile, he didn't know why, but he brushed it off as just a weird sensation. You left something cold on your hand and saw a snowflake had melted on it, you looked up to see clouds forming above your heads, you didn't expect a snowstorm today. Ghostbur hid under a tree that was near the three of you, he didn't want to get out from under it,

"What's wrong Ghostbur?" You asked as you walked over to him, he held Friend's lead,

"The snowflakes burn me." he said simply as he hid under the tree with Friend, you remembered the blanket you had taken with you,

"Can you hold a blanket over your head?" You asked as you took the (f/c) blanket from your bag, and offered it to him. The ghost looked at it for a second and put it on over his head, he was quite tall so it only reached about his forearms before the blanket was cut short. Your home was going to be a long walk, and it already seemed to be 7 o'clock. You looked around to see if there was maybe somewhere else the two of you could stay since it would take too long for you guys to get back to your farm. Ghostbur seem to notice this and then spoke,

"My friend Techno lives around here (Y/N)!" He spoke in a cheerful tone, he took your hand in his unoccupied one and began walking in the opposite direction of where your farm was. You had heard the name Techno before, it was one Tommy mentioned before, he was a blood god or something of the sort, your memory on what he told you about him was a bit fuzzy. You followed Ghostbur, surprisingly he could hold your hand very well in his ghostly hand, it wasn't warm, nor cold, but it was a sort of soothing feeling. The two of you walked quickly to see a plain of ice and snow in front of you.
