Chapter 12

You awoke the next morning, it was frigid and cold, and the window beside the guest bed was covered in frost. You felt a bit warm, and yet cold at the same time, you hoped that the snow didn't cause you to get ill. You put on your shoes and dried socks, Phil had dried your sweater and socks, it was kind of him. You made your way down to the living area of Phil's cabin, he left a note,

'I left for somethings in the nether, Techno and Ghostbur will help you home.

You put on your sweater and took your bag, you opened the door to the cabin and walked across the bridge connecting the two homes. The bridge was covered in a good four inches of snow, you didn't expect for it to be that much, especially since it seemed like it was melting already from the heat of the lanterns on the bridge. You gently knocked on the door that belonged to Techno and you were greeted by Ghostbur,

"Hello (Y/N)!" He smiled as he let you inside of the home,

"Hello Ghostbur, how was your night?" You asked,

"It was good! Friend slept well." He spoke in his usual cheerful manner. The two of you continued to chat for a while until he asked you about the little piece of paper you held, it was the note Phil had left you. The ghost looked at it and called for his brother,

"Techno! We need to get (Y/N) back home!" You heard a shuffling of things down the hall and then a grumble, you hoped you hadn't disrupted anything. The piglin-hybrid had on a skull mask of sorts and had a red cloak on, it was trimmed with what you could assume as fur from a white animal, you couldn't tell what else he wore, but could depict that he had on some large boots from the sound of his footsteps. Ghostbur shoved the note in his face and he read it, he seemed to be indifferent about it.

"Ok." That was all he said before he started to walk outside the cabin, you were a bit confused, mostly because of his monotone voice and that he didn't even bat an eye at the request that was made. Ghostbur floated behind Techno and you followed after, you stood at the bottom of the steps and saw that he was taking out a horse from the pen outside of his home, it was adorned with diamond horse armor and had a reddish-brown coat with a golden-blonde mane, it was a beautiful horse in your opinion. The horse had a tag on it's neck, you couldn't read it from where you stood.

Ghostbur had went to get Friend from inside and you stood there a bit awkwardly, you held onto your bag of belongings, there wasn't much inside since you hadn't expected to be away from home for the night, but it had some snacks you packed, dried fruit and a loaf of bread, though it was rock hard because of the cold. You looked around the area, there was a forest that seemed to be behind the two cabins, then a large stretch of land next to it, that was the way that you and Ghostbur had come from, and a small hill, it had a home built into it, you assumed it was a storage home, since it seemed a bit runned down.

You nearly jumped out of your skin when Techno tapped your shoulder from behind, he scared you. You were always jumpy when it came to new places away from home.

"Sorry." Techno spoke as he turned away, "Didn't mean to scare you."

"Oh no, it's fine! I'm just a little jumpy, you know?" You smiled a little, you didn't want him to think it was his fault. Techno just seemed to shrug it off as he led his horse behind him, you saw the tag on the horse's neck, it was named 'Carl', a fitting name for a beautiful horse. Ghostbur came back with Friend and appeared next to you with the blue sheep,

"Let's go Techno! I'll show you the way!" The ghost seemed to have remembered the way to your home, maybe he was good with directions you thought. Techno lead Carl next to you and spoke,

"Get on." You were confused by his request and stared at him blankly, why would he want you on his horse?

"Isn't he your horse though? You should be the one for him." You answered, Techno sighed, he seemed to have a reason.
