Y/n POV

I waited for Izu to return from the exam at his apartment with his mom. I helped her cook dinner and set the table. I heard the door open and put down the last of the cutlery on the table. I ran to Izu and pulled him into a hug. "I'm sure you're hungry so we made dinner." I grabbed his hand and led him to the dinner table where his mom was busy putting down the food.

"Come on. Sit down. Y/n helped me make this so let's not waste it, okay?" His mom said as we all sat down and started eating. His mom asked a bunch of questions about the exam while I just watched with a soft smile of my face. Izu noticed this and asked what's up.

"I'm just thinking about how proud I am of you. You did extremely well."I said

"Well I would've been seriously hurt if it wasn't you suddenly jumping out of nowhere. Thank you so much for that." He smiled at me.

"Of course. I wouldn't want my best friend falling to his death." I laughed.

(Time skip)

A week later the mail man stopped by. Izu and I were just hanging out in his until I heard his mom barge into the room, "It's here. The letter from UA is here." She said frantically.

I already knew the result since Toshinori told me. He also told me how the teachers saw me so I wasn't too happy about that but all's good.

His mom gave him the letter and we both left his room for him to open it. We waited outside while he read or listened to the letter. After a few minutes Izu opened his door and looked at us, "I got in." He said with a happy smile on his face.

"See I told you you'd get in. I didn't have a single doubt." I smiled at him, happy to see such a bright smile on his face.

Today is Izu's first day at UA. Today is also the day I find a job. I can't always rely on Toshinori for everything. I applied at a small cafe down the road and surprisingly they hired me quite quickly. It's probably they need all the help they can get. So I started immediately. One thing I'm happy about myself is that I can handle the customers quite well. Moving quite swiftly between each table, taking orders and delivering them with grace.

"Y/n! Order number 20 is ready!" The chef called out.

"Coming!"

And that's how  my day went. I looked at the time. It seemed my shift is ending soon which is great because that's also when Izu comes out of school so I can go pick him up. After a few more customers I took off my apron and put it in the backroom.

"I'm leaving! I'll see all of you tomorrow!" I yelled. I hear a chorus of 'byes' as I left the cafe. I quickly made my way to the entrance of the school and waited. I heard the school bell and got excited. 'I can't wait to hear about his first day' I was waiting outside like a dog waiting for their owner to come back home. I kept a lookout for a familiar patch of green hair. Once I did I saw him walking with two other people. My excitement died down, noticing that he's laughing and smiling with them. A sad smile appeared on my face. 'I guess I don't really need to be here then. They'll probably walk with each other home.' I quickly left before Izu could see me. I walked home (which is actually Toshinori's house) by myself. 'I just hope he doesn't forget about me. I should've expected this. He's got friends with the same ambitions as him. Why would he need an assassin as a friend? He doesn't even know that. I don't want him to know that.' My eyes filled with tears but I refused to let them fall. 'No we promised that we'll be friends always so I should not be sad about that. I'll watch him from the shadows if he's too busy with friends. It's what I'm the best at anyways.' I arrived home and pulled out the keys to unlock the door. I got in and kicked the door closed behind me then went straight to my room. I threw myself onto my bed and just laid there. I felt my phone buzzing. It could be only one of two people. Either Izu or Toshinori. I looked at my screen and saw it was Izu. I was a bit surprised. I would've thought he would still be with his new friends. I took a deep breath and answered the call.

"Hey."

"N/n! Hey." I smiled at the little nickname he gave me.

"Hey Izu. what's up?"

"I was just wondering where you were. Normally you would be waiting for me."

"I was there but I left when I saw you with two others so I left so you can spend more time with them."

"Aww you didn't have to do that. You're always gonna be my best friend."

"Yeah same goes to you." I smiled at the confirmation, "Anyways how was your first day at the school of your dreams?"

From there he started talking all about it. How they had to do a quirk test and how the person who came in last would be expelled. I nearly got angry when he said that he came last. I was about to fight someone. But then he explained how it was a lie to get them to put their all. Then he went on about the rest of the day. He talked about the people in his class and described them all to me. He also told me that Bakugo was in his class.  He sounded so happy. I smiled at that fact. To think that a single person can make me smile so much. After a while we bid our goodbyes and I fell asleep.

Day two of Izu going to school. Also Day two of my job at the cafe. My shift was the same as yesterday. Taking orders, delivering them, the occasional Karen and all that jazz. Today I'm contemplating if I should go and fetch Izu today. Yesterday he kinda sounded sad that I didn't so I'm gonna go today. I finished my shift with ease. I went straight to the entrance of the school and waited from him. Today I heard the bickering of Bakugo and Izu. Something about embarrassing him during training and Izu mentioning he borrowed a quirk. I face palmed when he mentioned that. 'Izu you're supposed to keep that a secret' I thought as I watched Bakugo walk home. I looked over at Izu and say his arm in a sling.

"Oh Izu when are you going to stop breaking your bones? You seriously need to control that quirk of yours." I sighed and walked up to him. I switched on my nen to heal him, "I'm not always going to be here to heal you everytime you get hurt."

"But you are here now. It also gives me an excuse to spend more time with you." He wore a cheeky grin on his face.

"You don't need to spend time with me. Just call me and I'll be there in a heartbeat." I chuckled as I pulled my hands away from his now healed arm.

I could feel eyes on me. I looked in their direction and saw it was a long haired male with a white scarf around his neck. That must be his teacher. I glared at him. Then turned back to Izu and smiled, "That should do it. Let's go home, Yeah?"

He nodded and we walked home together.

Aizawa's POV

'She looks like the girl from the entrance exam. She seems to be close to Midoriya. I guess I have to keep an eye on that troublesome child.' He thought as he watched them walk away.
