Baby Steps.

This is such a busy day. It is the end of the month and I am working with some of the resort's finances and paper works. I even skipped my lunch. Gutom na ko seriously but I want to finish all this first.

I am currently reading my emails when I heard my phone ringing.

"Hi Mom, why did you call?" I said as I answered my phone.

"Nothing, sweetie I just miss you, I am just pissed on our Lawyer he is having a hard time winning some of the company's serious case"

"What case does our company is facing mom?"

"You don't need to know dear it's just one of our board members"

"Hey I brought you lun—" Architect said as he suddenly entered my office. I raised my brow to let him know that I am wondering why he suddenly entered my office.

"Oh sorry" he mouthed and leave.

"Who is that?" my mom asked

"No one mom"

"No, I heard someone telling you he brought something, what does he brought?"

"Uhh its just some of the resort's reports mom"

"Oh, I see am I interrupting something sweetie?"

"No naman ma, I'm busy but I have time to talk to you"

"That's sweet but I better get going iha, I'll call na lang okay?"

"Sure mom" I said as I ended the call.

I stand up and checked what Architect bought me. It's a simple Mcdo Meal. I opened the paper bag and found a note inside.

Hey,

I know you're busy but don't skip meals <3

I smiled after I read the note. Wait! Why the heck am I smiling? And is that a heart? No, maybe just a symbol na kamukha ng heart right? Ugh whatever gutom na ko.

I shrugged and just ate the Burger. I'm glad it's burger since I am not a fan of rice whenever I am busy.

Time passed quickly. I am almost done and normally it's already time for me to leave the resort and go home. But I am considering on staying here tonight but depends.

"Hey, are you done?" I heard Architect said after he knocked and opened the door.

"Almost"

"What time are you going home then?"

"I don't know I might sleep here in the resort, I feel lazy to drive home"

"Oh, okay, how about dinner do you want me to bring you food?"

"Why?"

"What?" He said.

"Why?" I repeated.

"Why are you asking me why?"

"Well, first of all I don't understand why are you being like that, next is why do you care if I skip my meals or not, next why do you have heart on your note and I am not you fling or girlfriend for you to be nice to me, heck we're not even friends, I am your fucking bos—"

"It's because I like you okay!"

"WHY?"

"I don't know, I just like you, that is why I am being like this, that is why I do not want you to skip meals, that is why I want to be with you and take care of you and I want to have the right to do that even just as friends"

"I'm busy get out"

"What?" he asked confused.

"I said GET THE FUCKING OUT!"

"Okay, I'm sorry" he said and got out of the door.

I finished my works to stop myself from thinking. I do not know what to feel. I am not ready to like someone again. I am still trying to move on from Ed.

I finally finished my work and got my room. I showered and asked the staff to get me some clothes to the gift shop. I am watching the television when I heard someone knock.

"Yes??" I asked confused since my clothes are here already.

"Ma'am, architect asked us to bring this to you" she said handling me a paper bag.

"Oh, okay thanks" I said since I do not want to cause a scene.

I opened the paper bag as I close the door. I saw a KFC meal with lots of fries. He remembered! I told him that KFC'S fries is one of my comfort foods. I also saw a note.

"Sorry kung nabigla ka, I don't have your number and

I don't want to annoy you by chatting

so here's a note, just eat well. Goodnight"

Ugh! I suddenly feel bad from shouting at him a while ago.

I don't think I should eat this... but I'm hungry.

But I also did something bad... but he bought this for me.

Whatever! I'll eat this but it does not mean I like him. Yes! it does not mean I like him!

It's morning already and my driver delivered me my clothes here. I asked them to bring me one of my dress. I just let Sher picked one of my dresses in my closet.

Well, she bought me one of my Black Wrap Dress. I went to my office to organize some papers and of course to work.

I opened my door, and I am surprised to see Architect inside.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm sorry about yesterday, I didn't mean to pressure you or anything, but what I said is true I like you"

"I don't want flings, Architect I don't play and date, I date to marry, and I know that you don't want that, you just like me to be one of your flings, maybe, maybe you're challenged or something"

"No, believe me I genuinely like you. I know this is hard to believe. I do not want you to be my flings, yes, I admit I have a bad history in having flings, but I am serious now. I haven't felt this way before, but with you, you make me do, do t-things I don't want to do for my flings before. I am not challenged but I can tell that I am losing my mind because of you."

"I... I d-don't know, I am still not over with my ex, I am still moving on and I don't want to use you, you are a great person you don't deserve to be used.

"I know, and I am n-not telling you to like me back, but it will be great if you reciprocate my feelings, but my point is, I am not asking you to give me an answer now, it's okay that you have no feelings for me, for now. What I just want is to have a chance to show you how genuine my feelings are and for us to be friends, not just boss and e-employee"

"I don't know, seriously, I am s-scared, I have trust i-issues, I still care for my ex, and it m-might take a long time for me to be ready to like or maybe l-love someone again"

"It's okay, I understand, I will wait for you, but can you please give me a chance to show you how genuine and serious am I that I like you?"
"N-no, no I'm sorry"

"Please, just l-let me, you don't have to like me back, just let me?"

"No, I can't, I j-just can't, I feel that is it unfair and I am not ready for that"

"Okay...I u-understand' he said nodding and he turned his back to open the door.

"C-can we be friends then?" he suddenly said.

"S-sure, we can just be friends"

"Yes, just friends then"

"Yeah" I said smiling.

"That's a progress then, baby steps" he said and winked before he leaves my office.

I am shocked! Just a while ago he was there, sad, since I don't wanna give him a chance but right after the "friends" part he was like a baby who was suddenly have a new toy. Gosh! I just hope I made a right decision.
