Chapter 18: Final Chance

3rd POV

Y/N, Qrow, Neo, and team RWBY were now in Ozpin's office. Ozpin was facing the window and deep in thought as the rest of the people in the room were waiting for him to speak.

Qrow: Oz. What's wrong?

Ozpin blinked out of realization and got his focus back. He then sat down as he now let out his voice to Qrow.

Ozpin: *sigh* Something... doesn't feel right.

Qrow: What are you talking about Oz?

Ozpin didn't speak up for a few minutes. He then looked at Y/N as he called his attention.

Ozpin: I presume you already know Y/N, on who Salem is.

Y/N: Well... Just enough general info about her.

Ozpin: Well then, let us keep it that way. Because...

Ozpin stands up and exits his office as the others follow him out of the room. He then stops and faced the others.

Ozpin: Salem is here. And I need you Y/N.

Hearing this from Ozpin, everyone had mixed reactions. Team RWBY started to panic, Qrow dropped his flask out of shock, Neo just placed her head down out of concern. And for Y/N, he looked at Ozpin with a serious expression.

Y/N: How do you know about this Ozpin?

Ozpin: I can feel her presence. An unknown individual summoned her here in Remnant.

Y/N: Torchwick.

Y/N muttering the name of Torchwick caught the attention of everyone around him.

Blake: How are you so sure?

Neo: I can vouch for Y/N. Roman's been acting like a madman and... every weird shit he's done lately now makes sense.

Ozpin: Team RWBY, you four must gather all the students and tell everyone to ready themselves for the danger ahead. Qrow, please gather intel on where Salem is located now, you will be accompanied by Neo. And you Y/N. Come with me.

RWBY went ahead to gather all the students while Qrow transformed into a crow and Neo followed on foot. Y/N then faces Ozpin as he motions him to come along. Both of them headed to an elevator. Once they both reached the elevator, Ozpin pressed the button which heads straight down to the lowest floor.

Ozpin: Do you think you can defeat Salem?

Y/N: I don't really know for myself. The only choice I got is to face her and end-all of this shit.

Ozpin: That is true, it may be the only choice we have. I had a plan before you arrived at Beacon, to gather the maidens that were scattered throughout Remnant and have them all together. Even though the possibility of defeating Salem with those maidens is still quite low I must say.

Y/N: But now, there's no time for that, am I right?

Ozpin: That is correct. Now, follow me.

They reached the basement and Ozpin was walking straight while being followed by Y/N. He then explains to Y/N how everything started with him and Salem.

Ozpin: Everything began when I rescued Salem from that tower. We fell in love and we made sure that we would always be there for each other. But there was a time that I felt ill and I almost felt like I was on the brink of death. And yes it did happen. Salem wished the Gods to resurrect me but they didn't want to do it since it is something that they cannot simply give, and this led to Salem's anger and arrogance which grew more and more. It led her to speak against the Gods and gather an army of followers to battle against them. This however failed and Salem was immortal and this was a given curse to her. Then both God of light and darkness disappeared, leaving humanity without any guidance from them. I was reincarnated by the God of light and given four relics to find and gather in order to restore the order of humanity.
