I'm here to tell you there's life out there
my eyes have never lied
I've seen them landing
under a full moon's beam
In a not so distant canyon
within Spirit Mountains
right before i'd fired up my seedless cannabis
I'd recently departed The Emerald Triangle
was on my way home
when i'd noticed all the commotion
I'd turned the key off .. killing the loud motor
coasted my bike .. behind ancient rock cliffs
laid low with restless, hissing snakes
a disturbed scorpion or two
hugged the arroyo .. held my breath .. quiet
a confused iguana ran across my back
joint cupped in my hand .. I slowly puffed
the pungent smoke permeated the night air
faintly .. I heard strange, choking noises
covertly .. i'd taken the eerie sights in
their obtrusive, weird shaped spaceships
hummed in the background
anchored in the desert floor
odd .. glowing creatures resembling humans
had exited the bellies
of the expertly crafted flying machines
the ones with four eyes, three legs, five arms
rolled a large boulder
towards the center of their gathering
the others with three eyes, five legs
and four arms
efficiently collected peyote buttons from cacti
the leader had placed
what looked like some kind of food
on top of the boulder
peyote buttons were added
ravenously they'd eaten
hysterically chanted and danced
then loaded up and flew away .. in an instant
the last creature to board
had blatantly smirked in my direction
I rubbed .. blinked my eyes
viewed where they'd been
some of their food had been left behind
here's a picture .. the only proof I have
curious .. I ate it
soon .. flashbacks of '69 Woodstock
washed over me
Intently I listened .. I heard familiar music
I saw Jimi and Janis
kokopelli's appeared
we partied and danced
until the next day's late evening sun
I tripped for days
Mars Delight .. Venus Delicacy
