Chapter 23: Keeping A Secret

5 Years Later (You know what that means!)

Ai was sitting in his room thinking about how to propose to Lily, but then Reiji came barging in his room and was curious about what he was thinking about.

"Hey Ai-Ai~" Reiji said happily, "What are you doing today?"

Ai looked at him blankly, "I'm thinking about marriage."

Right then and there, Reiji's jaw dropped and his eyes widened, "M-Marriage?!?!?"

Ai nodded, "Why are you so surprised?"

"W-Well, I know you've been dating Lily-chan for 5 years now, so I shouldn't really be surprised now should I?" Reiji scratched his head nervously

Ai nodded and Reiji got excited, "So how are you gonna propose to her? And when are you gonna do it??"

"I think I'll do it tomorrow, since it's her birthday tomorrow." Ai said

Reiji smiled, "Ohhh, good idea, that'd be a perfect birthday present for her!"

"But I don't know how to propose to someone. I looked it up on the internet, but there are a lot of different proposals that I can't think of one to do." Ai said

Reiji grinned, "Just do it the old fashion way! Kneel down on one leg, show her the ring, and say the magic words, 'will you marry me'?"

"Will that work?" Ai questioned

Reiji nodded happily, "I'm sure of it! Lily-chan is sure to say yes!"

Ai then remembered what the professor said if she denied the proposal and he suddenly got nervous, "And if she says no.........??"

"D-Don't think of the negative things! Think of only the positive things right now." Reiji said trying to calm Ai down a little

Ai sighed, "What do you do after you propose to someone?"

Reiji thought for a moment, "Well, you usually have marriages after that........."

Ai remembered that the professor mentioning about marriage and he nodded, "Understood."

"We have to keep this a secret from Lily-chan though." Reiji grinned, "You want her to be surprised for tomorrow."

Ai nodded, "Alright, I'll try to distance myself from her today."

"Don't distance yourself too much though, or else she'll get suspicious of you." Reiji warned him

Ai got up from his chair and nodded, "Don't worry, I'll be able to work it out."

Walking out of his room, Reiji smiled, "I wonder what kind of family the two of them will have............."

Ai walked around the city in his disguise and went into the jewelry store, "Hello, I'm here to pick up a ring that I asked for yesterday."

The person behind the counter nodded and looked around the back and handed him a small box, "Here it is, good luck on your proposal."

Ai nodded, thanked him, and left the store to go back to the dorms.

Reiji was walking alongside you and when he saw Ai holding the small box with the ring inside, he tried to distract you.

"A-Ahh, Lily-chan, why don't we eat lunch together?" Reiji asked

You looked at him and thought for a moment, "Will Ai be eating with us too?"

"Sure! I'll tell him!" Reiji said as he blocked you from seeing Ai

Ai walked pass them calmly and went inside his room and placed the box inside his drawer near his computer.

After covering up the box, he closed the drawer and walked back out to eat lunch with Reiji and you.

When you saw Ai walking towards you, you waved happily to him, "Ai, let's eat lunch together okay?"

Ai nodded and kissed you on the cheek which caused you to giggle and you kissed his cheek back.

"Now, now, you can save all the lovey dovey stuff for later, we're going to eat now!" Reiji said as he chuckled

He placed a plate down for you, Ai, and for himself, "Okay, let's eat!"

As they ate, they talked about a lot of things, but what Ai was interested in talking about, is marriage.

Reiji ate his food and he looked at Ai, who was in deep thought.

"He must be thinking about the marriage.........." Reiji sweat dropped and sighed to himself

"Hm? Did you say something Reiji?" You asked him

Reiji quickly shook his head, "N-No! It's nothing! Let's just eat......"

You nodded and then looked at Ai confusingly, "Ai? Are you alright?"

Ai got out of his trance and looked at Lily and nodded, "I'm fine, sorry for worrying you........."

You looked at the two of them suspiciously, "Are you two hiding something from me?"

Reiji was flustered, while Ai kept his calm position, "We're not hiding anything Lily." Ai said calmly

You raised a brow at him, "You sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Ai nodded

Sighing, you shook your head disapprovingly, "I still have a feeling you two are hiding something from me......."

You ate your food calmly and Ai and Reiji sighed in relief and ate their food.

After finishing your lunch, you and Ai looked outside and smiled.

"Its snowing~" you said happily

(Well, it was snowing today, so yeah.......)

Ai nodded and looked at you, who was admiring the snow, and smiled slightly.

"Hey, Ai. Can we play in the snow?" You asked eagerly

Ai thought for a moment, "But I don't want you to get sick for tomorrow."

You tilted your head, "Why? What's tomorrow?"

Ai widened his eyes and looked the other way, "N-Nothing........"

"Oh, okay?" You said confused, "So can we play in the snow? Just for a little bit!"

Ai sighed and then nodded, "Fine......"

Jumping up and down, you hugged Ai tightly and grabbed your coat from your room and wore your boots.

Ai did the same and you dragged him outside and jumped on the snow.

"Come on Ai!" You said as you ran through the snow happily

Ai watched as you were having fun and he secretly took a picture of you and smiled.

You made a snowball, and grinned evilly, "He'll never see this coming~"

Making the perfect snowball, you aimed at Ai, and threw the snowball at his face.

Ai was surprised and looked at you, you were laughing and Ai made a snowball and threw it at your face.

You wiped off the snow from your face and grinned, "Snowball fight!"

The two of you threw snowballs at each other and you never grew tired of it.

Ai then tackled you to the ground and he was now on top of you and you were below him.

You were giggling and Ai leaned closer to you and kissed you passionately.

After kissing for who knows how long, the two of you decided to go back inside and warm up.

Ai guided you to his room and took your jacket and hanged it up to dry it.

You took off your boots and set it to the side neatly and he did the same.

Shivering, Ai wrapped you in his blanket and pulled you close to his body.

You snuggled close to him and drifted off to sleep. Ai chuckled and placed you down on his bed and he slept right beside you and put his arm around you.

Kissing you on the head, he smiled slightly and whispered, "Just wait until tomorrow."
