"Whoever this America guy was, lived a really interesting life!" Rica said, taking a bite of his sandwich. Russia chuckled lightly.
"That's one way to put it...also avoid talking while chewing, it's considered rude in most places. That and I'll be honest I don't really want to see your chewed up sandwich in your mouth."
"Oh! Sorry-" He swallowed.
"You can also just use your hand to cover your mouth, like this." Russia said, demonstrating by positioning his hand in front of his mouth in a sublet manner. Rica copied.
"Like this?"
"Mhm"
"Yay!" He said happily, continuing to eat his sandwich. Russia smiled and looked down at his almost empty soup bowl. Being around Rica made him miss Ame, a lot. Though, Rica wasn't all that bad. The two were different in many ways, but also retained some similarities, outside of looks of course.
They were both rather energetic, though Ame had a much larger ego than Rica, and also had much more knowledge of his enemies and allies. Rica on the other hand, knew very little of those who Where supposed to be his allies or enemies. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing though. He was more friendly than Ame, and maybe this meant he would make peace with foes. But who knows, maybe this was just wishful thinking on Russia's part.
After the two had finished eating at the cafe, they decided to go for a walk in the park. It was a warm, sunny day. The grass was a vibrant green, and the flowers were blooming into such wonderful colors. The two decided to sit on a bench by the small fountain in the center of the park.
"France took me here a few weeks ago, and I complimented the fountain. She said it was more of a commemoration to the failed past, but didn't explain." Rica said, looking at it. The whole thing seemed to be made of concrete. In the center was a small concrete pole that was holding up a pentagon. It was around 5ft in diameter and around that same height too. Within the pentagon was a star, each tip of the star touched the tips of the pentagon. Within the star was a slightly smaller star, which was being help up by another small concrete pole. Rica stared at it, looking through the cutout of the larger star and staring at the bench on the other side of the fountain.
"It's the League of Nations symbol." Russia explained.
"Ohhhh, I don't think I've gotten to that part of history yet. So far I've only gotten to the beginning of WWI." He stated.
"Oh, well the League of Nations was established after WWI, in hopes of retaining world peace. As if the name 'The War to End All Wars' wasn't enough." Rus said, an almost sour taste in his speech.
"War to End All Wars? Yay! Does that mean I'll never have to worry about war?" Rica asked, this made Russia frown. He looked away, thinking for a moment. He almost envied Rica's childlike view on the world.
"No." He said coldly, readjusting his ushanka so that it was closer to covering his eyes. "No, unfortunately we live in an imperfect world. Amd unfortunately war is still a very real issue....your country is still at war you know."
"It is?"
"Yes, with Syria and Iraq."
"Oh..." Rica looked down at his lap. A silence fell over the two.
"Sorry." Russia said, continuing to look the other way.
"It's okay, do you mind if we change the subject?"
"Not at all."

Rica sat on the floor, back leaned up against the side if his bed. His hand was cupped over his mouth and he was crying, or maybe sobbing would be a better description. He had just reached the end of WWII in his history book, and he was horrified. He had even done some extra research on the Holocaust.
He felt sick to his stomach, and feared he would never look at the world the same. So much for 'The War to End All Wars'. And what Ame did to Japan...how did people think this was okay? What was the rational?
"Rica?" Russia knocked on the door. The star-spangled country didn't move, as he was still too busy crying.
The taller man opened the door and jumped slightly, seeing the country crying.
"R-Rica? What's wrong-" Before he could finish the shorter country looked over at him, scrambling to his feet and running over to Russia, hugging him tightly.
"Russia I don't want to go to war! I don't ever want to go to war!" He sobbed into the man's chest, hugging him tightly. Russia frowned and gently rubbed his back.
"Hey, hey Rica it's okay, everything's okay." He cooed, trying to reassure him.
"No! No it's not! Why'd they let it happen? Why didn't anyone stop them!" He sobbed, pulling away from Rus ans looking into his eyes. Russia sighed.
"I don't know Rica...I don't know...but please, it's 3 in the morning, you need to sleep."
"I don't want to sleep alone..." He mumbled, looking away, face slightly red from embarrassment. Russia sighed.
"Okay, you can sleep in my room."
"Thank you." Rica muttered, clinging to Russia's arm as the two walked down the hall and into the master bedroom of the house.
Russia was glad that this was the time UK, France, and their family had decided to take a vacation. He knew the topic was very hard for France to talk about. Not that it wasn't hard for everyone. Russia winced as he remembered when Poland and the others were taken to USSR's home, to get away from TR. Rus gritted his teeth at the name. Poor Germany, having to live knowing that that monster was his father.
"Goodnight Rica." Russia said, laying on his side in the bed, facing away from Rica.
"Goodnight Rus." Rica said, shuffling slightly closer to the larger man. He was curled into a little ball, and was scared. Though he felt less scared with the larger man in bed next to him. There was something comforting about it.

I'll be honest I don't have much to say about this one.
It's got a little bit of RusAme near the end, so that's nice right?
Again, I don't really know what to say about the chapter.
I'm tempted to ask who you think the killer is, but there's been little to no hints yet, those are more present in coming chapters. Ah well.
When there are more hints feel free to say something, I'd like to hear your theories and ideas.
Anyways,
Stay Safe & Have a lovely day because you deserve it ^^
