Change of A Life Time
Chapter 7
After that really, quite amazing experience, I had Blair to deal with. I had to explain the mermaid thing, the shark thing, the tattoo thing, and the vision thing.
I was walking to lunch, after about 3 long and boring classes, Blair came up behind me, grabbed me by the arm, and pulled me to an empty classroom, and Sasha was right behind him.
“Dude! What the hell are you doing?!” I said in protest.
He plopped me down in an empty desk, like we were in an investigating room, with Sasha behind me, crossing her arms and getting ready to defend my case, and Blair leaning on the desk, in my face, and simply saying, “Talk.”
“Okay. Which explanation first?” I asked in amusement of his serious tone.
“Crys! This is not a JOKE!” he said stepping away from the desk and throwing his arms in the air.
“Okay! So, I went for a night’s swim, and got stuck in a cove on a full moon, and then I was turned into a mermaid. Bam! And a lady on my bus, was apparently the Queen of the Sea,” I said sarcastically “ was like Neptune’s divorced wife or something, and gave me a shark necklace which was the shark you saw in the pool, and—“
“Wait, whoa, whoa. The shark in the pool, is the shark necklace you are wearing now?” He asked, a little bit calmer, but still very confused, leaned back in a chair.
“Yeah, and we have like, telekinesis and stuff. It’s really cool, and she gave me a comb—“
“Yeah. Right.” He said
Now it was Sasha’s turn.
“Wait, she gave you a comb?” She asked, all up in my face.
“Uh, yeah.” I said.
“Crys, that is the celestial comb! From Gladys the Betrayer! That is an ancient artifact! Wait, her name was Gladys right?” She said excitedly.
“Um, wait Gladys the Betrayer? What does that mean?” I asked wearily.
“She completely betrayed Neptune with another ruler. Neptune loved her very much.” She said sadly.
“Oh, cause I know her. She gave me the comb, and Murphy.” I said.
Jeez, I always thought she was the nicest person ever, but with a sad essence to her.
“Crystal, the celestial comb is the merworld’s most treasured artifact. It’s unbelievable that she still is alive. The tale is about a thousand years old at least.” She said, leaning against the wall.
