Change of A Lifetime

Chapter 2

My flashback was interrupted by the terrified screams of Sasha. I shook my head and focused on the black wall of water that was coming toward my school.

The swimming coach was beyond scared now. Her face was drenched with sweat and tears, and was red from crying.

Usually by now the wave would have hit us, so I looked back towards the window and saw the wall of water there, but it wasn’t moving. I looked towards Sasha and saw her face.

It was completely calm. Like she had just gotten out of a typical English class. I noticed her staring at the wave in deep concentration.

“Sasha, what’s going-“

“Shut up!” she snapped.

I was confused, scared, and tired from what was going on.

I looked at Sasha again, and suddenly, her long, curly blond hair was, turning... green?

“What the hell! Sasha! Your hair!” I screamed at her in complete disbelief.

“Gosh Crystal! I said to friggin’ be quiet!” She yelled. When she yelled at me, her face was contorted in anger, and concentration. Sooner or later, she began to relax and her face became calm and quiet. And as for her hair, there was no trace of green in it anymore.

I looked at the window again and saw that the sky was no longer gray. It was it’s normal, peaceful and happy blue, with a few fluffy clouds here and there. Then I looked for the wave. It was nowhere to be seen!

I looked at Sasha, who had a content look on her face, like she had just proved her enemy wrong.

“Sasha. What just happened?” I asked her calmly.

“The wave. It’s gone.” She said in her usual peppy tone.

 “Well then...” I said, speechless.

As for the other students they were frozen with fear, staring wide-eyed at the window in confusion.

Sasha looked at me and smiled. I smiled back at her.

We both got up, and out from under the desk, and slowly crept toward the window. The town was unharmed and the shores were clean.

It’s like the storm never happened. I thought.

I turned around, and looked at the students. And I saw all of them in the pool, screaming and laughing, like nothing ever happened.

 “What the...?” I whispered.

I walked briskly toward Sasha and she was on the benches, looking stressed.

“Sasha, what the hell just happened here? I thought...” I asked her.

“Oh my gosh, Crys, are you okay? I thought you were still in the locker room! Passed out!”

“I didn’t pass out Sasha, now what is going on, there was a huge earthquake, we were nearly killed by a tsunami!” I said loudly, starting to get angry.

“Crystal! None of that happened. You jumped in the water and never came up. I swam down to get you, and you were at the bottom, not moving...” she said softly.

 “What?...I...”

I was speechless. I had no idea what happened to me.

“Sasha. I think when I was unconscious or whatever, I imagined that stuff, about the wave and everything.” I said.

“What wave? Wait, so you imagined there was an earthquake, and the earthquake caused the tsunami?” She asked me, pacing.

“Yeah, and you were...” I stopped and got closer so I could whisper, “controlling it or something, I don’t know something freaky like that.” I said starting to step back.

“And your hair was green!” I also said, not softly but unintentionally loud, so everyone in the room looked at me.

“Um, Crystal. You’re kinda drawing a little attention...” said Sasha distantly, like she was only a whisper in the wind.

 My vision turned black and sooner or later, what I saw in front of me was a little hazy, but I understood what I was looking at;

A beautiful panorama of the ocean! All the coral reefs, fish, dolphins, turtles, and sharks were all right in front of me! I could see everything!

I started to turn my head; my peripheral vision recognized something swimming beside me. But, before my eyes could actually see the creature, my vision went black again.

And once again I saw Sasha, staring at me wide-eyed, and slack-jawed.

“What?” I asked in obvious confusion.

How is it? Is it good? I really hope so, comment, vote and fan! Thanks so much!
