Change of A Life Time
Chapter 4
“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed as loud as I possibly could.
My parents rushed upstairs and knocked on my door as loud as they could and yelled “WHAT?”
“MOM! SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY APPENDAGES! MOOOOOOOM!” I screamed!
She rushed in, and she gasped. “Honey, you have a tail.” She said in shock, on the verge of hyperventilating.
My dad just stood there. Wide-eyed, he then said, “I’m going to go lie down now.” He then very simply went downstairs.
“Crystal. I don’t know what to say.” Said my Mom in absolute disbelief.
My body was covered in scales. Literally covered from my chest to the tip of my tail.
I looked down and saw silvery scales from my torso to my hips, and from my hips, the silver faded into a purple, which had a green and blue sheen to it, and on the fins, they a dark purple with a small white spot on the right fin.
I looked at my arms and saw silver and purple fins on the edge of my forearm, and sparkly scales outlining them. And my nails were colored silver.
I moved my tail a little bit, and just that little movement made a huge splash in the tub.
Wait, are my eyes a different color too? I thought hopefully, because my eyes were always a jade green. I never really liked the color, but I’ve known to learn how to live with it. I slowly lifted myself out of the water, and saw the water roll off my tail like little circular rocks falling off a small edge.
I still noticed my Mom standing there, just gawking.
Maybe I can change back by getting out of the water. Ok, here we go. I thought as I started to lift myself out of the water a little more. My whole body changed back as I lifted myself higher and higher out of the water.
The only problem was that my tail was the heaviest thing on the planet!
“Mom, can you lift my tail out of the tub?” I asked calmly.
“Uh, yeah hun... Ugh! It’s so heavy!” She said with a grunt as she wrapped her hands on the base of my tail to pull me out.
She ended up getting her t-shirt wet, but eventually got me out. It was very weird; the transformation.
My tail turned the color of my skin then formed back into legs. My mom turned away to give me privacy as I put on the clothes she brought me, but the only thing that remained was a small tatoo on my foot. It was of the white dot, only shaped as a trident.
“Mom, I have no idea-“ I started as I regained my balance, while standing on my two legs again.
“It’s alright honey. We just need to keep this an absolute secret. No telling Sasha, no telling anybody. This is for your own good.” She said looking me straight in the eyes.
“I know but-“
“ Crystal! I don’t want you to be kept in a science lab for the rest of your life!” She said loudly with a glint of worry in her eyes.
“Okay. Then that means... I can’t swim.” I said.
“Of course you can honey-“ She started to say.
“No, I meant swim at school.” I said softly and sadly.
“Its okay hon, if you want to we can go swimming together as much as possible.” She said with a smile. “I will make your father go too.” She said as she was looking for my dad, who apparently passed out halfway on the couch.
I heard a click and the door opened.
I had a moment of panic then I realized it was brother.
OH SHIT!
My brother!
