Forty One

Unns- It all started a year back.

Manav joined the college a year back. He wasn't much involved with anyone but was a football player. Due to his skills he got selected in the team and became friends with the boys.

I was friend of Sanku, tk, Arsh and Rishu. Through them I became friends with Manav and started liking him. Gradually we came close and then ultimately started dating.

It was all good until one day I saw Manav and Maya all cuddled up together.

What was it for? Why he did that? What made him go there? I have no answers to it. He never ever told the reason he did so.

I was a girl who just became angry on little things too. I had a word with the boys without manav.

The boys thought I was the one lying and not Manav. They were arguing with me and in anger I pushed rishu back and ran away from there. I didn't know that when I pushed rishu he moved backwards and tripped on the stone and his head banged with the bench nearby.

That night I was alone in my room crying, heartbroken. I felt like there was no motive of me living there.

I decided to leave the college the very next day but the principal didn't wanted a bright student to go away in another college. I came back shattered to the hostel when I saw manav coming in anger towards me.

He shouted and screamed at me. At that point I got to know about Rishu in hospital. I was guilty of what I did. I did not do that intentionally it just happened. This created more differences.

Though Rishu forgave me for whatever I did, I always be feeling bad about it. That day I changed.

I never now get angry even on big things. The next day of all this Maya and Manav had a very big fight in the college compound and they were suspended for a week. Manav came back but Maya joined other college.

Nobody knows the reason, maybe the boys do but I don't know. I never ever had a word with manav after that until these last three months when you both came.

He always came towards me to apologise but how can one forget a betrayal. The night you saw us kissing, I don't know what happened to me. Maybe my love for him now couldn't be kept anymore kept on my heart and I gave in.

(Unns was already in tears. Aash made her sit and she also hadtears in her eyes)

Aash- I think we'll talk about this later now. I don't think we should take this topic any further. You should rest. I can't see you crying like that. Also it can affect the baby. Please let's go back to the hostels that you can sleep for sometime. You can't take stress at this time.

Unns- No let us finish this topic. I can't hurt myself remembering all the past things again and again.

Aash- (hugs her and is crying) I'm feeling so bad for you. Unns. I'm so sorry because of me you have to think about all these things.

Unns- (wipes her tears and smiles) Aash never somebody has asked me about what I feel. And today you have. I had a heavy heart for so long and finally feel a bit light.

Aash- I love my strong Unns.

Unns- Last week after we came back from hospital on Sunday. Mnv visited me that evening. He took care of me undoubtedly but when I told him about the baby. He gave a blank look to me. He shouted and screamed at me, as if I was the only one at fault. He then left without a word. And from then we are ignoring each other.

Aash- What! I mean it's not your fault? He too is responsible for it? How can he (Unns interrupted)

Unns- Don't get him wrong Aash.

Aash- What do you mean?

Unns- His past that he told me the time we were dating.

Aash- What was it?

Unns- (takes a deep breath)

Mnv's mother dated a guy in college. In the last year of college She found out that she was carrying a child in her womb that is now mnv. She told the guy about it but he wanted her to abort. She could never in her life kill someone that too a baby in her womb.

She decided to raise the child by herself. She worked very hard and earned a living for herself and mnv. When mnv was 12 his mother told him the truth and then he started hating himself.

He was very upset because it was for him, his mother faced all this.

The very next day when his mother was coming back from work she met with an accident and manav lost her.

He then spent next few years in an orphanage.

Through some scholarships he got admission here.

Maybe now this thing hit him hard that what his so called father did to his mother, he did the same to me.

Aash- I didn't know both manav and you have faced so much of things. But seeing you both stand so strong I'm so proud of you both.

Unns- (smiles) He is definitely very strong.

Aash- So are you. You go back. I have some to go somewhere.
