Chapter 4- Did I Mention

"Ready for the game?" I asked as we walked along the lockers.

"With the VKs? Definitely. By the way Jay and Carlos are working together, we're going to win the games this season," Blossom smiled.

"Glad to hear that. I'm tired of the newsletter saying that we lost, how we lost, why we lost, and what we should do to improve. Leave it to coach to tell his team what to do," I said, slightly frustrated.

"Agreed," Blossom sighed.

"Mal, Evie!" I waved them over.

Evie smiled and rushed up to us. Mal came more reluctantly, but still stood next to us.

I didn't have my glasses on. I had contacts instead. Blossom hid my glasses, probably in an attempt to make me change the way I dress. I yelled at her for a minute before huffing and deciding to go to the Tourney game with her.

"You are such a natural beauty, you know that?" Evie commented.

"Thank you, but I'm being very honest, you're prettier." I smiled.

"Aw, thank you," Evie said, placing a hand over her heart.

Coach had put Carlos and Jay in for the game. I smiled at Carlos doing a victory dance in front of the enemy. The game was going well already. The wind slightly cooled me off from the sun, making it more enjoyable to watch.

We cheered loudly after Prince Ben had scored. Mal covered her ears at the loudness and I smiled. It was a bit shrill this season.

"Excuse me! Excuse me, can I have your attention, please?" Prince Ben said over the microphone.

The crowd immediately quieted. "There's something I'd like to say! Give me an 'M'!"

"M!" the crowd shouted.

"Give me an 'A'!" Prince Ben continued.

"A!"

"Give me an 'L'!" Prince Ben finished.

"L!"

"What does that spell?" Prince Ben questioned.

"Mal!"

"Come on, I can't hear you!"

"Mal!"

"I love you, Mal! Did I mention that?" Prince Ben asked.

Audrey ran off the field in embarrassment. I wanted to smile, but knew it would be inappropriate.

"I love you?" Blossom questioned in disbelief.

"Give me a beat!" Prince Ben pointed to the band.

"Uno, dos, tres, cuatros!" Doug shouted, the band playing after.

Did I mention that I'm in love with you?

Mal scaredly blocked him from a kiss. Prince Ben wrapped an arm around her. "I love you, Mal. Did I mention that?"

Audrey took the microphone from him, making me glare at her. "Chad's my boyfriend now. And I'm going to the Coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date." Audrey kissed him right in front of Prince Ben.

Prince Ben took the microphone back from her. "Mal, will you go to the Coronation with me?"

Mal sighed, smiling. "Yes!"

"She said yes!" Prince Ben freaked out as the crowd cheered.

"When did this happen?" Blossom scoffed.

"Things change as quickly as you can blink."
