"Children, excuse me! Um, as you know, this Sunday is Family Day here at Auradon prep, and because your parents can't be here due to... distance, we've arranged for a special treat."

"Headmistress, I still don't think this is a good idea-"

"You'll be fine, Sophia. It'll help you face your fears, won't it?" Fairy Godmother reasoned.

I crossed my arms nervously as Maleficent appeared on screen. She backed up, and I saw the monster next to her. I squeezed my arm, assuring myself that she couldn't hurt me.

"Kids!" Fairy Godmother waved the villain kids over with a smile.

"Evie, it's mummy! How beautiful. Well, you know what they say, the poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

"Don't you mean the weeds?"

"Who's the old bat?" Cruella asked.

"This is Fairy Godmother," Mal explained.

"Still doing tricks with eggplants?" Maleficent snickered.

"I turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage!" Fairy Godmother exclaimed, startling me.

"You really couldn't give Cinderella until one a.m. I mean, really? What, the hamsters have to be back on their little wheels?" Maleficent taunted.

"They were mice!" Fairy Godmother scoffed.

"Headmistress," I said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

She stepped aside as I hid slightly behind them.

"Hi, Mom!" Mal said.

"Mal!" Maleficent exclaimed, startling me and making me jump.

"It's okay. They can't hurt you, can they?" Carlos whispered.

"No. They really can't." I shook my head.

"You children are never far from our thoughts!" Jafar said.

"How long must mommy wait to see you?" Maleficent asked.

"Um, there's a big coronation coming up, so maybe sometime after that," Mal explained.

"When?" Maleficent demanded.

"Friday, ten a.m.," Mal smiled fakely.

"Are you sure I can't see you before that? I don't know what I'll do if I don't get my hands on- you! You little nugget, that I love so much!" Maleficent said.

"Yes, I completely understand, Mother." Mal nodded.

"Carlos! Is that a dog? Yes, yes baby, I do understand, it would make the perfect size for earmuffs!" Cruella laughed.

"He's the perfect size for a pet!" Carlos snapped. "This dog loves me, and I love him. And FYI, your dog is stuffed! So give it a rest!"

Pluto barked in agreement behind me.

"Oh, there's another one?! And who's the girl?" Cruella questioned.

"My name is Sophia," I said.

"Now I see the resemblance! What did your poor parents do to you?" Cruella taunted.

"They made the greatest person I've ever met," Carlos snapped.

I walked away, finally overcoming my fear. That woman was nothing but delusional now. She can't hurt me.

"It's okay, Pluto," I assured him, picking him up to comfort him.

"Hey," Carlos called after me. "You were so brave. I can't even stand up to her. And who's this?"

"Carlos, Pluto. Pluto, you already know who this is. One of the five hundred and five dalmatians that the one hundred and one dalmatians had," I explained.

"He's very cute." Carlos rubbed his ears.

"You love them now, don't you?" I smiled.

"Carlos!" Mal yelled.

Carlos quickly kissed my cheek, startling me and then chasing after his group. I looked at him in disbelief as my cheeks burned. Pluto laid his head on my shoulder.

"Yeah, bud. I don't know what in Hades happened either."
