I helped load the kids' stuff into the trunk, taking their bags. Celia placed her own bag in the trunk and completely ignored what Ben had to say, making Mal laugh.

"So as soon as we get to Auradon, you have to try ice cream," Evie said to Dizzy.

"And go swimming?" Dizzy asked excitedly.

"I can take you to the Enchanted Lake!" Evie said with a smile.

They both squeal quickly in excitement.

"I can't believe I get to live with you in your very own castle!" Dizzy said.

"It's just a little starter castle," Evie said modestly.

"Hey, Mal?" I said.

"Yeah?" she turned to me, looking away from Celia.

"Do you think I could visit Mom next time we're here?" I asked.

"Are you sure you want to see her?" Mal asked me.

"Yeah. And possibly Dad. Maybe they can explain what in Hades is going on with me," I said, motioning to my eyes.

I listened to Celia giving Ben a tarot reading as I looked behind me, watching the barrier closing behind us.

Suddenly, Hades stuck his hand through the barrier with his emerald in hand, attempting to open the barrier wider.

"It's Hades!" I yelled.

"Stop the car, he's trying to escape!" Evie yelled.

Jay stopped, and we all stepped out of the car. By then, Hades had gotten a hole in the barrier big enough to fit his head.

"I am a god! I don't belong here!" Hades yelled as his hair lit on fire.

Jay, Ben, and Carlos stepped in front of us, only to be shot at. They fell to the floor, weakened. I glared at him as Mal turned into a dragon. Hades looked at her, terrified. He shot a beam at her, making her yell in pain.

"Come on, Mal, blast him!" Jay said encouragingly.

Mal roared at him, making the beam weaken. I glared at him, my eyes glowing a bright red. Dark matter surrounded him, making it hard to focus on the direction of the beam. He stumbled back into the barrier and the dark matter disappeared. He glared at me before storming away.

"Are you okay?" Evie asked when Mal transformed back.

"No!" Mal said, holding her chest. "He was draining all my magic with that ember, and I felt my powers slipping away."

"He's back where he belongs," Evie assured Mal.

"Yeah, for now," Mal said as I supported her under the shoulder.

I helped her back into the limo. The kids were scared half to death. The whispering was barely audible, but was still there.

"Find him."

"He can help you."

"Destiny awaits you, Sophia Radcliffe. Or should I say Sophia Medusa?"
