"Are you ready to do this?" Ben asked as the guards opened the doors to the limo.

"Of course." I nodded, straightening my outfit.

We walked into the clinic. The guards waited outside, making sure not to make a scene.

"Prince Ben, Madame Sophia. What brings you here?" the lady at the front desk asked, surprised.

"I want to take a DNA test," I said, fidgeting with my hands.

"Your parents are Roger and Anita Radcliffe, aren't they?" she asked, confused.

"No. I'm adopted. Goblins who were recently taken over from the Isle found me in an alleyway and put me in the local orphanage," I explained.

"I see. Well, we'll need to get a swab of your mouth and a vial of your blood," the nurse explained.

"No problem. Do whatever you need to do." I nodded.

"Of course," the woman said, rushing off.

"What if my parents are from the Isle? Will I be sent there?" I asked, concerned.

"Of course not. You live here, in Auradon," Ben assured me.

"Right this way, please," a nurse said, holding a clipboard.

Ben stayed in the waiting area while I went back with the nurse. I sat down in a seat while I waited for a doctor.

"Hello, Sophia. What brings you here?" the doctor asked, walking in and closing the door.

"I've wanted to get a DNA test for a long time, but the swab always gets lost or they do not give the results to me. Something always happens to me when I try," I explained.

"I see. Well, I'll make sure to get the results you want," she assured me.

"Thank you so much," I said as she prepared a needle.

She took a vial of my blood and a swab of my mouth out with her. I laid back, holding the gauze to my arm from the needle. I looked at the wound when it stopped bleeding and threw the cotton away, replacing it with a bandage.

The whispering started again, and I looked around, alert. It's been happening often when I'm alone. Ever since two weeks ago, it has been happening more and more often.

"Who's there?" I asked the open area. "Is someone there?"

"Princess, you're not yourself."

One whisper stood out clearly. I looked around, frightened. "I'm not a princess."

"But you are. Embrace yourself."

A knock came from the door. The DNA test must've finished. Since Auradon didn't have as big of a population, DNA tests were quicker.

"Here are your results," she said, handing the envelope to me. "The results are inside. They are fully confidential unless you want to tell someone."

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate the help," I said, joyful tears in my eyes.

"Anything you need, Sophia." She nodded.

I walked out of the room with the doctor, and I ran to Ben, hugging him tightly. He smiled as I let go, holding up the envelope.

"Open it," Ben said, motioning to the envelope.

"Car first," I said.

We headed out to the limo and got in. I looked at the envelope, my name scrawled in neat cursive. Why was this so hard? I've been waiting for this for five years of my life.

"You don't have to open it if you don't want to," Ben assured me.

I looked at him for a moment. "Maybe I should wait."

"When the time is right," Ben nodded.

"When the time is right," I echoed, agreeing.
