Sophies p.o.v

Gavin and I continued to watch the game. Every once and a while I would hear him say things like

"God I wish I was that ball"

or

"I'd let him tackle me any day of the week"

or my personal favourite

"Just step on me with those gigantic boots already"

To my surprise none of these were directed at Ethan, out of respect I assume. I just know he was thinking it though. He really did look good.

The game itself was actually really exciting. We were versing the local team that has been our rivals since ever. The Florence foxes, embarrassing right? There has really been no comparison between our mascots, since we are the Lakeshire Lions.

I squint to see the small table where the goal count is kept. Shit it is neck and neck. My phone tells me that there is not much longer left of the game. This is getting interesting.

Once I return my focus to the game I notice that Grayson has the ball, but two, rather beefy, players are barging towards him. Although he does not seem to be worried, I feel like he knows his brother is close by. Speaking of, Ethan dashes free and receives the pass from Gray. They made it look so easy too. The tall one in the other team playing under the number 16 gets really close to Ethan. Too close. The lizard is using his lacrosse stick to swipe at the bottom of Ethans , throwing him off balance.

"Isn't that illegal?" Gavin almost yells. I notice that he has a slight accent. British I think, but as if he has been here long enough to have a half and half accent.

"Yeah it is, the ref must not see it"

"The bastard" Yup definitely British.

My eyes fall back on Ethan, number 16 is still bothering him, and it looks like he is talking to him? Maybe they know each other from previous games. At this point I am staring to get worried as I am fully aware of Ethans short fuse. Yet, he stays calm and ditches him by dodging and switching sides of the goal. Shortly after, Grayson races passed Ethan and in front of the goalie, screening him so Ethan can make the shot.

"Shoot Ethan, SHOOT" Gavin hollers. He really gets into his sport watching.

As if he heard, he swiftly throws the ball accurately into the top left corner of the goal, the goalies weakest point. Grayson immediately shouts in victory for his brother. Instantaneously the ref blows the whistle signalling the end of the game.

"Would have been cooler if it was on the whistle" Gavin says, obviously sarcastic.

His voice was almost drowned out by the cheers of both the team and the stands. I see Ethan look around the stands until his eyes land on me. Joy is radiating from him and I can't help but mimic his happy emotions. His hand reaches up and gestures for me to come down to where he is.

I shake my head. Yet, he persists.

"No" I mouth.

He shrugs his shoulders in a 'if you insist' matter. Seconds later hes bolting up the bleachers, how does this boy still have so much energy. Once he gets to me his knowing smile flickers towards me.

"We are not the main characters of a rom-com E" I tell him as he makes his way over to me.

"Uh yeah we are, you are the nerd who fell for the amazingly athletic and intelligent bad boy" He says while wrapping his arms around his waste.

"Please, don't make me throw up" He makes an offended face.

"So lady-like" He coos.

"Only for you"

Suddenly I remember where we are and jolt away from Ethan and am met with an unpleasant scene. What is so interesting that so many people had to stare? Oh shit, most of the school would not have known about Ethan and I. Now they sure do. I am not sure why I would keep this information to myself but it just seems private. But when someone like 'the' Ethan Dolan is involved, I guess that is not how it works. After high school it will be over. Assuming Ethan and I are together for that long, god I hope we are.

Ethan notices my worried expression and gently squeezes my hand.

"Well aren't you two cute" Gavin buds in.

Ethan looks at him confusingly, and then back to me for confirmation.

"Oh Ethan this is Gavin" I smile towards him.

"Oh uh, sup... bro" Ethan nods his way. Clearly uncomfortable.

"Don't worry, I'm more likely to hit on you" Gavin responds pointing at Ethan.

The concern vanishes from Ethans eyebrows and he cracks up.

"I made Ethan Dolan jealous? I am definitely putting this on my finsta" Gavin says sarcastically.

I look back to Ethan but he was already looking at me. He is so beautiful.

"Great goal by the way" I say playfully punching his arm.

Ethan shrugs his shoulders in a 'what can I say' motion. His cockiness is annoying but outrageously sexy.

"Hate to bud in.. not really, I am just saying my goodbyes since my ride is here." Gavin remarks.

We bid our goodbyes and Ethan tells me he has to go to get changed. So I was left all alone. Not that I really minded though. I spent my time mindlessly walking around the field that was played on not more than half an hour ago.  In the distance I see someone. A boy. Tall, brown hair, athletic. I am too far away to see who is it but it looks like they are walking towards me.
