Sophie's p.o.v

We both walk towards Carla's walkway. I made sure to put a good foot and a half between us because I didn't want to mess up. It was hard though, I wanted to be close to him, hold him. But I don't want Ethan to think we are moving too fast.

We walk into the walkway and see a pond with a bridge over it. I see a duck swimming by with three ducklings trailing behind it. Obviously, I hurried onto the bridge and looked down at them.

"That ones Instagram worthy for sure" I hear Ethan say.

I look towards him and he's at the end of the bridge with his phone out smiling.

"Did you just take a picture of me?" I run towards him to delete the picture.

"Maybe" He says holding his phone above his head so I definitely could not reach.

"Eeethan" I say jumping but unsurprisingly failing to grab his phone.

"It's a good picture" he defends himself from the slaps.

"I wasn't ready" I protest.

"Isn't that what you youngsters call candid?" He raises an eyebrow is obvious sarcasm.

I reach up to his face with my hands and cup either sides of his cheek. I lean in slowly so that our noses are about an inch apart. He instantly wraps his arms around my waist.

Sneakily I grab his phone and twist out of his grasp and run to the bridge again hoping to have enough space to delete the picture.

He walks up with no hesitation. Which gives me enough time to delete it.

"Bet you feel pretty silly now" I say folding my arms in a childish manner.

He doesn't reply with words.

He leans in slowly and cautiously, as if he were making sure not to do anything wrong. Ethan connects our lips slowly and our mouths move together in a smooth slow rhythm.

His hands sling to their previous placing around my waist and he quickly jerks my body closer to his. This touch made shivers run down my spine.

After a while Ethan pulls away and his eyes flutter open slowly, he quickly turns around not facing me anymore.

I'm confused by his reaction.

"Ethan what's wrong?" I ask putting my hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry Sophie" he says in a quiet breath.

"For what" I reply still very confused.

"I can't do this" he announces.

He begins to walk down the bridge.

It takes me a while to process but I decide this was not how it was going to end. I sprint ahead of him and stand in his track, us being face to face, well more like face to chest because of the height difference.

"No, talk to me" I protest looking him dead in the eyes.

His gaze was over me but eventually trailed down to meet mine.

"I'm not good for you" He says.

"And you think this because?"

"Just drop it okay" he steps to the side in attempt to leave but I stay with him.

"No I'm not going to just 'drop it'" I repeat.

"Look if you realised you don't like me that much just tell me, I can move on. It's not the end of the world" I said these words but s part of it stung, I don't know what I would do if this was the truth.
