She wasn't the only one with her mind thinking about everything. Lauren couldn't stop thinking, and not even her work was helping. As the hours passed, she never stopped. She saw the sun raising from the top of the main post, trying to enjoy it as her thoughts were insisting on consuming her alive. Even if it was hard to admit, y/n was different, but so was she. The younger had a kingdom to rule, and Lauren had a ship to command. Even with different things, both were leaders of something, both had power and both tried to do whatever was needed to keep their people happy, satisfied, with good conditions. So, Lauren was thinking, pondering, about letting her childhood friend go. It seemed to be the best option, as they, the pirates, could always get another job to get some money. The morning went by, and the captain couldn't find the perfect plan. By lunch time, she went to the queen with some food and gave it to her, not directing a word to her nor looking to her. She came and left within seconds, just to go straight looking for the person she knew could help her the most. Well, the second person, since for some reason she couldn't find Ally anywhere, though she didn't go to check the rooms. Normani was the person she seek, and eventually found her doing some chores on the outside part of the boat.
"Normani!" She called, approaching her.
"Ay captain." The woman smiled and continued to tie the ropes.
"I need advice." She sighed deeply. "Like, urgent."
"And you couldn't find Ally I bet." She chuckled. "Shoot."
"You are the second wisest pirate in the ship." She smiled a little. "So... You know... Our princess is actually a queen..."
"Oh yay, we kidnapped a queen nice."
"I would actually be happy if it wasn't my queen. Or the only queen I would ever serve if that was the case."
Normani finished and looked at the woman. "What are you talking about Lauren you are a pirate you won't ever serve anymore, and that queen can get you dead."
Lauren nodded a little. "I know that, what I meant is... Her and I, childhood friends. She is... Was... My best friend."
"You were best friends with a princess...?" She asked shocked.
"Yes, I was best friends with a princess. She was my best friend and I loved her!" She groaned and passed her hand on her face. "And I thought she was just a princess, but no she is a queen and I killed the king!"
The black skin pirate opened her mouth and closed it. "You are fucked." She started walking looking for Dinah.
"Well thanks for telling me something that I didn't know!" She rolled her eyes, following her. "The plan was her not recognizing me. Take her to the prince, kidnap her again, bring her back home."
"Well you can't do that now! She has a kingdom to rule, she can't spent days away from it!"
"Hey you are supposed to be by my side! We need that money! And we can't just get her back to her home since she would kill us all!"
"Wait if you are friends with her why didn't you just ask her for money?" She faced her not stopping and raised an eyebrow. "It would be sooo less work!"
"Because, you dumbass." She slapped the back of her head. "I haven't seen her for six whole years!"
"Ouch!" She passed her hand on her head. "That's not my fault "
"Of course it's not. Just like it wasn't my fault becoming a pirate. I couldn't just go back. I avoided our ship to get any news related to her. She got married, was happy, I killed her husband, now I kidnapped her thinking she was still a princess and getting very mistaken."
