Jasper lay in his bed thinking back to a few hours ago, when he met Annella. There was something about her that he could not quite pin it on. She did not seem to feel that instinct to run and hide from him like any normal human would. It struck him as strange the moment he never felt fear coming from her.

" Jasper? May I have a word with you." Jasper heard Carlisle asked from a few rooms down. Being a vampire does have its pros, such as not having to shout through the house at times. Jasper leapt up from his kings sized bed that was adorned with dark blue sheets and pillows -he enjoyed the comfort of the bed- that were now crumbled up. He walked out the door and was at Carlisle's office door in less than a second. He opened the solid dark oak door which had a golden handle. The heavy door was easy for him to move as he stepped into the office. Carlisle was sitting at his desk filling out some paper work as he looked up to Jasper who turned and closed the door.

" Jasper, how are you?" Carlisle asked placing his pen down and leaning back in his large old leather chair. He laced his fingers in front of him as he propped his elbows into the thick arm rests.

" Well. And you?" Jasper asked in reply as he stood at the opposite side of the desk with his hands behind his back.

" Well thanks. So I hear you met a girl?" Carlisle said with a smile to him. Jasper nods gently and walked over to the window. They lived in a large house that was build mid nineteenth century with stone walls and large windows. A large white porch stood with white pillars at the front door. A large garden that Esme spends most of her time in, was stretched out from both the front and back.

" Yes, I did. Her name is Annella Blair." Jasper told his father.

" I see, Annella Blair. As yes, I seen her grandmother this afternoon at the surgery. Jenna Blair I believe her name was. they are a very well renowned family here." Carlisle said nodding to his son.

" Carlisle... There is something about her. I know I have seen her before I just don't know where." Jasper said as he watched the snow continuously fall from the heavens above like angel feathers.

" I see. Well I will look into it if you wish." Carlisle said to him as Jasper turned to face him with a soft smile.

" Thank you." Jasper smiled to him as he walked towards the door.

" It is my pleasure." Carlisle said as Jasper stepped out into the long stone hall. The walls were coloured white as well as the ceiling; the floor paved with lament wood. Modern day paintings hung upon the wall as a dark oak table with a vase of flowers stood at the far end. Jasper turned the corner and walked back into his room, rushing over and throwing himself into his bed with a smile he has not had on his face for years.

" Grandmother!" Annella yelled as she rushed down the large white stairwell. She smiled as her grandmother walked into the house. Her grandmother wore a long blue coat and a dark blue skirt.

" Ann, sweetheart! Your in a happy mood my dear?" Her old frail voice spoke softly to her as they hugged gently. Annella helped her grandmother take off her coat and hung it on a peg.

" I met someone. In the forest." Annella smiled as she and Jenna -her grandmother- walked through the halls and into the living room.

" Oh dear! That's wonderful! Who is he? What is his name?" Jenna asked with a smile to her granddaughter.

" His name is Jasper Hale. He is new in the town." Annella said as they both sat down upon a white sofa. For an old house that belong to an old lady in her late seventies, the house was very modern. Jenna could thank her granddaughter for that.

" Ah one of Carlisle's adopted son. They seem very nice." She smiled to her as Annella looked to her surprised. Her grandmother seen this and chuckled.

" Carlisle has taken up the doctors position. Wonderful and talented young man. Very handsome as well, if I don't say so." Jenna smirked as Annella laughed wholeheartedly.

" Gran please." Annella smiled to her.

" So do you have a date to the dance?" Her grandmother asked.

" You are expected to have such at your age my dear." She spoke to her. Every year on the 15th of December, Annella's grandmother would hold a Christmas ball within the house. This would be a suit and tie event with the well known towns people attending.

" No I don't have one yet." Annella sighed as she sank into the seat, not happy about the whole situation.

" What about that man. What was his name again?" Jenna tried to think but could not remember.

" Justin?" Annella asked her.

" Yes, him. Has he not asked you yet?" She asked her.

" Yes he has asked. But I refused!" She growled as she stood up from the sofa.

" Why?" Her grandmother asked her lowly in a disapproving tone.

" I will not be seen with a arrogant twat on my arm. All he wants is your money and I will not allow it." Annella growled at even the thought of that monster. Justin black, the most handsome made in town and renowned bachelor. He has tried on countless occasions to win Annella over into marrying him. But she is too smart for his game, he is just another con artist trying to get to their money. But Jenna does not see his true self, which annoys Annella because Jenna believes that Justin would make a good husband to her.

" He is a nice man!" Her grandmother called out to her standing up.

" Please Gran! He is a con artist." Annella told her Gran. Annella turned and walked out the room.

" I will see you in the morning. Good night." She called and rushed up to her room. Jenna sighed and rolled her eyes as she looked to a small coffee table by the side of the sofa. It had a vase of lilies with a picture of a woman and a man under it within a glass frame.

" You daughter has taken after you Anya. Oh my dear daughter, I miss you and Daniel so much." Jenna wept over her her late daughter and son-in-law.
