" Annella!" Voiced yelled over the howling wind that pelted snow into the faces of the Cullen clan.
" Annella!" Jasper yelled with a form of desperation ripping through him. He had no idea as to why he felt like such towards this girl he met only three days ago. Jacob was out and in his wolf form helping to search the forests. A strong blast of wind hit Jasper's face and the familiar smell of lily-of-the-valley.
"Annella!" Jasper yelled running off following the smell.
" Jasper has picked her scent up." Edward said as everyone quickly followed. Jasper stopped when her scent was strongest. He looked around and his eyes fell upon a body laying on the ground, almost covered in snow. He could barely hear her heart beating within her.
" Annella!" Jasper yelled frantically as he rushed over and sank to his knees, pulling her limp cold body from the snow. Annella's temperature was not too far away from his own. She slightly parted lips were blue as Carlisle rushed over and sank down.
" We need to get her to the surgery." Carlisle said with heist as he opened her eyes and shone a light into her eyes. Her pupils reacted to the bright light out of the darkness. Jasper nodded and stood up easily with her in his arms.
" Edward come with us. Esme and Bella, go tell her grandmother. The rest of you go back to the house." Carlisle ordered them as everyone set their ways. Jasper, Edward and Carlisle rushed towards his now empty office and burst through the door. Jasper placed Annella onto a bed as Carlisle took off his coat and pulled up his sleeves.
" Take off her wet clothes!" Carlisle told the boys who quickly took off her wet coat, boots, trousers, mittens, scarf and socks. Leaving her only in her underwear and shirt. Carlisle left the room briefly and arrived back with blankets and a electric heater.
" She has hypothermia. By the time we get her to the hospital she will be dead. We have too hear her up." Carlisle said as he then handed them blankets.
" Wraps these around her." He told them as he plugged in the heater and turned it on high as he left and brought back another heater. He plugged that one in an switched it on as well. It did not take to long for the room to heat up to the temperature of the Caribbean. Carlisle walked over to the a corner and pulled a heart rate monitor over to the bed before quickly attaching it to Annella's right ring finger. He switched it one and the beep sounded through the room as her heart ticked it over.
" What do we do now?" Jasper asked Carlisle looking between him and Annella.
" We wait." Carlisle said as the main door opened and shut with several feet walking in. Carlisle sighed and looked to Edward who nodded knowing what he was about to say already.
" Annella's grandmother is here. Edward and I will go an talk to her. If anything happens shout." Carlisle said as he and Edward waked out the room closing the door behind them. Jasper sighed and looked around the surgery room. The white walls slightly dulled with grey had a few carbonates here and there; most likely filled with equipment and medicine. An old, over used dark blue carpet lined the ground. The bed were Annella lay was against a wall across from the door, just under a large single window with off white shutter shades. To the right was Carlisle's desk against the wall, on top was a flat screen computer -always top of the range- among a small stake of neatly arranged papers. It was a typical doctors surgery if you would ask anyone. The only noise in the room was the sound of the machine registering Annella's heart beat and her shallow breathing that was all but little existent. Jasper sighed unnecessarily and walked over to the twisting blue chair, the kind of chair you would find a teacher sitting on.
" Why do you have this effect on me?" Jasper whispered to himself so quietly only his ears would pick it up. He wanted to know why he felt ill when Carlisle had told him she was in that blizzard. When he was on the back of her horse, having her sitting in front of him felt so right. Her back fitting to his chest so easily. And the first time he saw her, having that overriding need to talk to her and hear her voice.
She intoxicated him beyond thought and in ways he never knew even existed. She brought new hope into his torturingly long life of pain and disgust. Too him she was the light at the end of the very long and dark never ending tunnel. But what he wanted to know most of all, is why her scent filled him with so much happiness and desire to be next to her. But through all of his wanton need and desire for this human which he meet only three days ago, he has absolutely no lust nor urge for her blood. In fact the thought of such a deed made him feel disgusting and vile. Her scent seemingly masked out any of his cravings for human blood.
" Its like how I was with Bella, expect instead craving her blood. You find it digusting at even the thought." Edward said while stepping in as he heard Jasper's thoughts.
" I do not understand how she has this effect on me." Jasper said looking to his brother for help.
" I don't think anyone can help you with this. This has never happened before, its always you crave for her blood. Not the other way around." Edward muttered looking to Annella as the heart beat monitor signalled her heart was growing strong.
" Could it be that it is her ability seeping through the cracks? You know like when Bella was human?" Jasper asked as the thought popped into his head. Edward sighed a superfluous breath and smirked looking to the floor.
" Could be." He chuckled to Jasper as the door opened behind them. Carlisle walked in and closed the light wooden door behind him.
" Her Grandmother is away back to the house. She believe this is her fault." Carlisle said walking over to the bed were Annella lay. He placed a hand on her forehead and smiled at her rising temperature.
" is it because of the engagment?" Jasper asked catching Carlisle by surprise at how he knew about it.
" Yes, they had an argument and Annella was upset so she went for a walk. Ended up being caught up in the blizzard." Carlisle told them the shortened version of the story. Jasper nodded and looked to Carlisle.
" She will be alright." He asked slightly worried for her. Carlisle turned and walked over to him, placing a hand onto his shoulder.
" More than likely. She will have to stay here for the night so I can monitor her." Carlisle told them as they all sighed heavily.
