The next evening came draped in an ethereal fog that spread over the waters and gathered around the mansion like lost souls. Something sinister was whispering in the wind. I stood on the beach and hugged my arms for warmth to push away the uneasiness.
Lestat and Marius were just getting up and I knew I should go in, but I didn't know why but something is coming. The order perhaps, vampires from the bar? There was definitely something I could smell it is on the wind as the very breeze surrounding me, warning me to get to safety. I had only seconds. I began to back away, but I moved slowly afraid if I turned around something or someone would get me. The sand became like quicksand under my feet as I struggled to make them move. The fog was dense, swimming all around, obscuring my vision which didn't help my poor pounding heart. In the space behind me I could hear the servants leaving and a storm brewing. Taking off my shoes I thought it would be easier to retreat but my feet sank deeper into the sand of the beach. I tried to turn around to the sound of the Lestat's voice calling me. Blurs of massive vampires materialized seemingly out of nowhere. Arms came from behind me and plucked me off the ground.
''Get the hell off of...'' My commands were quickly killed off by hand clamping down around my neck, pressing and squeezing the air right out of me. I tried to scream for Lestat to help me but there was no use.
Fingers ripped through my hair, grabbing the roots using them to get my head up exposing my vulnerable neck. All I could see is the starless pitch black sky. Then a silver blade that appeared in my peripheral vision suddenly. It glinted murderously, blurring out the world. I panic inside. Will this be the end and the last thing I see?
A startling burst of energy shot through my being, screaming at me to fight for my life. I bucked wildly against his body, my feet swinging relentlessly as I tried to break free from the iron grip.
I gasped as I saw more Vampires materialize in front of me from the sky. Realization hit me like a train. He wasn't just some random vampire from the bar, but a member of the order sent to me. He was here to make sure I didn't get out of here alive.
Jerking my head back once again he lifted the blade to strike. I felt cold steel press against my neck as he sliced my neck open, my skin gave way like slicing through stick of butter. And then he released me.
My hands shot up to my neck, covering the wound. I turned on my heal and looked for my attacker, but he flew away. Hot and wet liquid see through my fingers and down my neck my games fell on the strange, wet sensation coating my body like a blanket. Blood, my blood, pooling everywhere. I tighten my grip on my room trying to stop the flow.
''Quickly, bring her to me! '' the blonde-haired leader snapped.
gripping my bloody neck with both hands. I shook my head at the oncoming vampires.
''Nicholos, she starting to go into shock!''
''Hurry, damn you! ''
Yells could be heard from far away and it seemed as I was slowly drifting away, then nothing.
