Chapter 15,

''Who's there? Show yourself! '' I call it out nervously. My voice barely above a whisper because of the injury I sustained.

I sat and listened for some time. I started to get worried as I waited more and more. Dreading what was coming, hoping for someone to help.

''Is anyone there? ''I ask more firmly.

Although the steps approached no one spoke. Was it a rescue? Was it Marius or Lestat? Deciding not to hide in the corner, I jumped up and strained my neck looking down the dark corridor. Soon a figure emerged from the darkness which obscured his face. I backed away with a jerk and hugged myself as I leaned my body against the wall.

''Well, well, Princess of vampires, ''he said in a mocking tone as he stuck his ugly face to the bars. The voice was unknown to me, I could not place it at all.

''Nicholos is requesting your company, ''he said as he produced the key from his pocket and unlocked the door.

My poor heart raced in my chest. This was it. I could fight to get away. I held my breath. I listen as the door creaked open. The flickering light from the torch in the hallway luminated my cell. His menacing shadow casted a black cloud of panic that came over me. His brawny muscles flexed threateningly.
''Don't even think about ...''

Without thought of safety for myself I moved to strike. I flitted like lightning, kicking and clawing, trying to get at his face. He was fast and blocked my efforts skillfully until something snapped inside me. I punched and kicked him like a wild animal backed into a corner. Jumping through the air I knocked him to the ground with tears of pain, sorrow, and anger surfacing I thought to snuff out the rage within. Suddenly a balled fist was the last thing I knew before all went black.

Groggy and wearily I tried to lift my head to the sound of approaching footsteps. Helplessly I was snatched up and taken down the dark corridor. They made sure to keep me subdued with a rope which tide my hands and my feet. I was exhausted, hungry, it seems like it has been days. I sagged in their arms uselessly.

''Welcome back royal bitch,'' Said the one who attacked me earlier.

Piece of shit!

''What's happening, where are you taking me? ''I said struggling against the rope and trying to look up, but gravity won out as my head hung useless.

''Shut up, ''the Taller one said in a deep voice with slicked back black hair.

So, I remain silenced as they dragged me a few more feet. Then we came to a halt at a at a double iron door and they opened it with flourish.

''It's this way, '' the slicked back haired one said. ''Nicholos is expecting her in the Great Hall. ''

I felt my body being pulled forward through the doors. They dragged me to the center of the room before halting in front of a dais.

''Stand, '' ordered the deep voice brawny one.

My eyes fluttered and tried to focus on the scene before me. Slowly in my vision a massive rectangular room with high ceilings and arched windows lined each side came into view. It looked like a church and old and regal one. While maybe if I did not know better, I could have sworn I was in some sort of castle.

An ancient one.

After surveying my surroundings in awe, my eyes fell on Nicholos who was seated in a regal velour high back chair with two men flanking either side of him. Slightly more to the right was another man, and this one I knew very well.

Lestat.

He shook his head tersely; it would not have been noticeable if it were not for the fact that I was staring at him. not trusting my eyesight, I blinked rapidly to see if he was mirage, just to fool me and give me false hope.

I had to stay calm, he was here, and I knew that meant help for me. So, I chose not to blow his cover.

''Welcome to my humble abode ''grinned Nicholos, his arms outstretched to invite me to look around.

I did not pay him no mind. I kept my eyes focused on his face and his receding hairline with blonde hair tide into a ponytail. I wanted to pounce on him and take him out. That surely would wipe the smug grin off his lips. But the jerks that held me gripped me hard and I knew fighting was no use.

''I trust you have found your accommodation satisfactory. ''

Is he freaking kidding me? The sadistic prick.

''How about some food or wine. ''

My stomach lurched with hunger, but I stuck out my chin in defiance.

''Oh dear, not at all obliging, are we? ''He said glancing about to his lackeys.

I cursed him under my breath, clenching my teeth grumbling out the words.

''Did you say something Princess, speak out so everyone can hear. ''He demanded.

''I said I am going to kill you when I get out of here you bastard. ''My voice is cold and cruel and very direct. I could hardly believe it was me. Almost.

''When you get out of here? ''He mocked. 'That's a dream never going to come true, I assure you. ''

The promise of captivity for the rest of my life sent a chill through me. There was no hope of escaping but Lestat. What was he doing here? With Nicholos of all people? Members of the order and what they did to me momentarily distracted me. I wanted revenge on the ancient ones.

I glanced around the room looking for weak spots in the security. But there was sadly none and it was disappointing.

''Don't even think about it or bother looking for a way out. There is none for you.'' Warned Nicholas catching my roaming eyes.

''Congratulation's asshole! ''I said trying to pull my arms free so I could stand in defense. But the two jerk vampires that held me firm would not let me. Sighing, I directed my attention back to Nicholos.

''So, where are they? ''I demanded.

''Excuse me girl, who do you speak of? ''He leaned forward glaring at me.

''The order, the old ass vampires that wanted to kill me.''

''They are no longer in the picture. They failed in their attempt and now I have you. ''He smiled.

My God. What will become of me? I could see his greedy eyes consume me and I knew what he was thinking and what he could be doing to me.

The blood ran from my face.

''Bring her to me! ''He snapped at his guards.

Immediately I dug my heels into the floor. I did not want to be anywhere near that blood sucking monster. But sadly, I had no strength or means to kill a fly, let alone two well-fed brawny vampires. Still, I gave it my best shot as I wiggled in their relentless grip. I was not going to make it easy on them.

Within seconds I was kneeling before him, a clawed hand forced me to bow down to Nicholos as if he was a king. ''Get the hell off me! ''

I tried to wiggle out of his iron grip, but the slicked back haired vampire pushed me down.

''Silence! ''Boom Nicholos as he bent gripping me with his icy fingers around my neck.

I gasped as he tightened his hold on my neck. A strange sickening feeling slithered around my heart. I never felt this vulnerable in all my life. He was going to kill me or worse. A blood slave.

''You will learn to respect me, Princess. ''

''I just sooner die. ''I looked him dead in the eye. Was it bravery or stupidity, I did not know?

''Yes, my little one. All in good time, but for now.'' he said as he pointed his pale Bony finger in my face. ''By the time I am done with you, you will be wishing for death but no rush for that. I will use you for my pleasure. ''

In the next moment he blurred so fast I had no time to react. Swooping down on me he sank his fangs into my neck. There was pain. No pleasure, no tenderness. He was harsh and ripped into me like a beast. Regrettably, I fell into his arms and then nothing. Blackness.
