Baby Steps

*Max pov*

It's been so long since I've even seen Harvey never mind spoke to him, trust me I want to... More than anything, I want to be able to talk to my brother. Just to say sorry to him, take back everything I said to him, even if he doesn't accept it I just want to apologize. I've been listening to a lot of music recently, like a lot of music, there's barely a minute that goes by were I don't have music playing through my airpods playing. I've had 'If the world was ending' by JP Saxe and Julia Michaels. I know it's about love but it fits so well with how I feel. I was sat listening to it, thinking about how to pull myself out of this mess, Mum knocked my door

"Hey love, any laundry?"

"I'll do it Mum, don't worry"

"Max, you've barely been out your room"

"That's changing, I'll be down with the laundry soon mum"

"Ok, see you soon son"

Mum said as she left, don't get me wrong, I'm was still sad about what I caused but I need to start being better than this... This isn't me and Harvey wouldn't want me to be sat in the room 24/7. I get up and shower before getting fully dressed in fresh clothes, from head to toe, and heading down with the laundry. I get into the living room and see Tilly and Leo sat on the couch

T: "Hey Max... Max?!"

Tilly says surprised to see me. She jumps up realising I'm out of my room and runs over to me

T: "I didn't expect to see you down here"

She said giving me a hug.

M: "Oh, mum didn't tell you? I'm going to try fixing the things I've screwed, starting with myself"

She smiles and runs out the room to find mum.

L: "You screwed yourself? Isn't that just wanking"

Leo laughs

M: "Not like that Leo"

I laugh at him. I go through and put my laundry in the machine and look at my phone

S: "What you thinking about"

Mum asked

M: "Gonna try apologizing to Dylan"

S: "Not Harvey?"

M: "Baby steps mum, baby steps. Harvey won't answer and I accept that, I'm gonna start with Dylan and work up to Harvey"

S: "Well, I know Dylan didn't take it to heart so he'll be easier to start with"

M: "Thanks mum"

I flash her a smile and make my way upstairs and texted Dylan

some time, why?

Sure come to
my house? No
ones in except
me.

Uhh yeah

I get my shoes and jacket on and leave, making my way to Dylan's, I keep thinking about what I'm gonna say but when I get there and he opens the door it all goes out the window.

Dy: "Hey Max, come in"

Dylan says cheerfully. We went in and sat in his living room

Dy: "So uh... It's been a while"
