Sunghoon and Eunha shared everything
-secrets under starlit skies, laughter that echoed through childhood streets, promises sworn on scraped knees. But time twists even the strongest bonds.
One betrayal. Countless silences.
Arguments chipped away at...
The familiar scent of jasmine perfume greeted me as she pressed a kiss to my forehead. "Hello, my lovely daughter. How was school?"
"Same as always," I shrugged, pulling my hair into a messy ponytail and adjusting my glasses. "Except now I have to tutor someone. Wait—why are you dressed up? Are you going out?"
Mom massaged her temples with a sigh. "Work crisis. The office is in chaos." Then her eyes sharpened. "Wait—you're tutoring who?"
"Park Sunghoon," I mumbled, puffing my cheeks in a pout.
Her spoon clattered against the counter. "Park Sunghoon? He's back?"
My fingers froze mid-air. "Back? What do you—"
"Sweetheart," Mom interrupted softly, "he was your childhood best friend. Don't tell me you've forgotten?"
I could only nod slowly, my chest tightening with something unnameable.
I stared at Mom in confusion, my mind going a mile a minute. Sunghoon. My childhood best friend. My closest companion through laughter and tears. The boy who always had a bandaid ready on his knee. The one who shared my secret stash of chocolate. The one who held my trembling hands on the first day of school. And then disappeared without a word when I turned eight.
All I could manage was a faint "Why?"
"I'm heading out now, baby. Take care of yourself—I left your favorite dish in the fridge. And remember, don't open the door for anyone unless it's me or your dad." She kissed my forehead one last time before leaving.
"Okay, okay, Mom. I'm not a baby anymore," I chuckled, waving her off. "Good luck! Bye!" I shut the door behind her with a smile.
After finishing the delicious dinner Mom had prepared, I trudged to my room, changed into my pajamas, and flopped onto my soft bed.
"So tomorrow, I'm tutoring... Park Subtoon? Park Sunny?? Park—... Ugh, whatever." I mumbled, already forgetting his name.
Though it was still early, my phone suddenly buzzed. I glanced at the screen:
*Jake Sim wants to send you a message.*
I opened it, snorted at the silly photo he'd sent, and lazily replied, "Haha," before tossing my phone aside. But the moment it dinged again, I snatched it back up.

The shrill sound of my alarm jolted me awake. "TIIIIINGGGG!!! TIIIIINGGGG!!!" My eyes flew open. I smacked the alarm clock before stumbling out of bed. "What time is it?" I mumbled, rubbing my eyes, "Ugh, 4am...?"
*I washed my face, feeling the sleepiness still weighing on me. After washing up, I made myself breakfast...*
